He's 68, has a bad knee is slightly built and has been a sheeple all of his life. He's been at it a month and has barely able to do what most young men can demoonstrate in less than a week. But he shows up every day, puts in the hour of effort and he's progressing. He'll get pretty good if he stays the course. It'll take him over a year to be a good fighter, as vs 5-6 months, tho.
Never to late to learn how to protect yourself. Especially these days. Good on him.

Hai Karate!

Be careful how you use it!!!!
when I trained, in Korea, it was called "Moo Doo Kwan. Now it's called Tang Soo Do. We all just train at the college gym or in the park (for free sparring). The gym supervisor is hinky about the sparring, but ok with the basic stuff.

I'm too old, too slow at my age. I'll need to whop em' with a cane, or use the old equalizer. If I think fast enough, I might stop on the instep, breaking twenty some bones.
that's probably the way you'd treat him. I touch his shoulder on his weak leg side, to provide the balance he still needs for kicks. He's getting to be ok on his good leg, but I dunno if his bad one is ever going to let him stand on it and kick.

Good on ya for taking on an old guy 😎

Even in these enlightened times it seems like lots of people over 60 just quit and go downhill, physically helpless in any sort of crisis situation.

No need ta go ta any expense.

He's tryin the "some guy halfway around the world" instructor bit, but that don't work no more.

phonee will either post up his instructors' name, or he won't.

If he doesn't you can be 99.99999% sure he FOS.

If he does, you'll be 100%.
