I've always loved the design of the Winchester 73. Can't afford the real thing and have been looking at the Cimarron short rifle in 44 special. The 44 special is much easier to work with that the thinner 44-40 and can loaded to match the older case. Anyone have any experience with the Cimarron line of firearms? Thanks
I used to be affiliated with them. Still friends with the owner.

They are top notch firearms. Fit and finish are superb as well.
Cimarron is great when you can't afford the real thing

I have their short rifle in 38/357. Only shot a couple hundred rounds through it but never a hick up. Nice, solid rifle.

I have several of their single action revolvers and I have sold several of them. I think they are a good value but take them out and shoot them when you get it. There have been some issues but Cimarron has always stood behind their products and made them right.
I have the 73 in 45 colt. Works perfect, accurate and great workmanship.
Purchased it direct from Cimarron this summer and the service was very good
