Even our governor was freaking out like a little kid in a press conference today because of a spike in cases and a hospital bed shortage. It sounds like he is getting ready to do something, maybe a statewide mask mandate, maybe some kind of shutdown.

The health departments in my county and one county over imposed mask requirements last week. The police and sheriff's department here said they don't plan on enforcing it and the D.A. said that she wouldn't be charging anybody with violations.

The sad part is, we have a lot of candy-a$$ed fellow "citizens" too stupid to know when they're being deliberately manipulated to "need" the "assistance and guidance" offered by our rulers. The first shutdowns devastated our economy and dynamited the budget, that's a price that I don't think was worth it in terms of results. I'll concede that now, the treatments for bad cases are much more effective, and we probably saved a number of seniors. But in terms of life-years "saved" versus the years people have been set back by loss of work, assets, education, employment --- I don't think the choices being made by the ruling class are rational at all.
And is anyone safe? From the cases I've seen around me, nobody is really safe from this monster -- and yep, COVID is a deadly beast if you're one of the special few. Are you special? Are you sure?
