Facebook is great for keeping up with acquaintances and distant relatives. Whenever I have something important to let people I don't care much about know, I post it on Facebook.

i've decided fb wants to maximize revenue while holding on to market share.

About 10-12 years ago all my associates told me I needed a faceberg account. So I created one. Then I started getting messages from people I knew. Another way to look at Facebook is this...the commies want you uninformed. They want you off the internet and off any significant site so you are not telling the truth and providing an alternative to their fake news lies. The only benefit of you being on their sites is to further brainwash you and if you can be cut out of the herd or flock, to take you down with their pack. Thus you provide comic relief as the truth is trampled and discredited by the commie swine. FB and some other sites not only allow a modicum of truth to offset the mountains of lies foisted upon the unknowing, but also allow you to find friends and loved ones missing from your lives for years. Parler, Gab, MeWe, CaucusRoom and others are providing some good alternatives along these lines, but they can be harder to use and more difficult to find people on. I'd recommend waiting until you're established on these sites before cutting ties with FB altogether. Same with Twitter, Instagram, etc.
