Just returned from a week at camp, I'm tired this AM but we had a ball ! My grandson's first hunt filling two youth tag bucks, SIL's first buck, my son filling two doe tags and yours truly with my best Mule to date. Even my 5 yr old grandaughter got in her first hunt .I am blessed !

Nice! Those type of hunts are the best, both when you are the kid and when you are one of the adults. My kids are grown now and I cherish the memories of their hunts like this.

This closed another life's circle for me as a grandfather so did meeting & sharing a hunt with my war buddy Jim Martin { ET } several yrs back.. My grandson used my old Rem 243 ADL that my son and I shot our first buck with as kids, so now I'm 72 do the math..

Anyone doubting the 243's killing ability beyond 150 yds topped with an 85 Gr TSX over H4895 at 3K needs to be set straight. Both bucks my grandson killed were 157 & 176 yds in windy conditions..High shoulder shots stopped them mainly in their tracks only one required a second to keep it from tumbling down a steep canyon..

That is truly wonderful. I grew up in a hunting/fishing/outdoors family. First person that I ever hunted with was Mom. Dad taught me a lot as well and every year we had a family hunting camp, was never just a thing for the guys. Now Mom and Dad are getting older and don't hunt as much but they do when they feel up to it. My wife participates in gun season and both my son (4) and daughter (6) have been at camp every year since birth.

The family aspect of hunting is my absolute favorite.

Our hunt this year was quite miserable between the wind and an excess of acorns making for extremely lazy and sheltered deer. But I'm super happy to see your success!
