That was almost 6 years ago, during the Freddie Gray riots in Baltimore.

Dad had a piece he had ripped out of the 1-1/2” side of a 2x4, about 28 inches long or so. He was a framer, swung a hammer all day at work. He took a while to get tired. I would wear multiple pair of long john bottoms under my pants when we went to church, because a whipping was a foregone conclusion when we got home.😁
It tell folks about it, and they act like it was awful. I ask them if I turned out ok. They agree that I did, and I tell them, when you are happy with the results, it’s kind of silly to argue with the methodology.😉
