Pro Stock icon Bob Glidden, one of the most dominant forces in the history of NHRA Drag Racing, died Dec. 17. He was 73. In a star-studded career that spanned more than 25 years in the class, Glidden won 85 events and 10 season championships.

Well, for the third anniversary of his passing, RIP. Watched him battle Lee Shepherd many times at the Mile High Nationals.

His earlier battles with Bill 'Grumpy' Jenkins were even more fierce. They literally ushered in modern prostock.

I remember as a kid those guys finally getting into the '8's.... Epic Summer night memories for me with a drag racing father.

Man that’s too bad. Time flies, I had no idea he was 73yrs old.

He could make that Ford wail.

He was by far my favorite Pro-stock driver. Watched him 3-4 at BIR as a kid and of course on TV.

Well damn!

His passing was fast.

Couple of months ago I pondered that I hadn't heard anything out of John Lingenfelter - Lingenfelter Corvettes , he was building BIG HP Corvettes back in the 80's . He was killed in a practice run in 2017.


Two weeks ago I pondered why I hadn't heard anything of Nicky Hayden motorcycle racing champion from Owensboro , KY. , met and stood around talking to him and others at Daytona 200 . Nicky was killed while training cardio on his bicycle in 2017 , hit by a car .

Rest in peace fellows ...

Need to check on Smokey Yunick and Don Garlitts, too.

RIP, I remember when his son ratted on him for cheating, lol they all do. he was filling his tube chassis with nitrous and had a tube in the scoop that would mist it into the carb, good for a tenth.
