Wife and I have separate checking accounts. Her SS goes in her account, mine goes in my account.

Earlier this year she got the $1200 1st stimulus in her account, I got mine in my account.

I am linked to her account but she is not linked to my account. This morning I had $1200 deposited in my account, nothing was deposited in hers.

That doesn’t make sense.
We got them to. I thought some got more money, up to $2000? Not really paying attention to fake news even locally.
Damn! Last time I got it fast as a text on my phone telling me it had been deposited on the same card as my tax refund. Still have that card, but no notification yet about the recent stimulus amount. I will have to contact H&R Block tomorrow and see if that card is still active.
Scam,

Someone will call and say they made an error.

But to compensate you, just return $1000.

Then the original $1200 is cancelled.

Saw it on FB.

That’s ok they’ll just send the second set and print more it’s just paper... er... cyber... paper?
So much for the $2k?

You heard something? last I heard, they were still working on that, and most were in agreement that the total amount would be $2,000.00, i.e., an additional $1,400.00.
Difference in accounts provided to IRS for tax filing in 2020 as opposed to previous year?

That was approved by the House, it still needs to make it past the Senate, which it has not and I doubt it will.
That should buy a good supply of toilet paper.

The IRS Treasury account numbers are the same as my regular monthly SS deposits.
We got ours, too. One of them balances out a set of snow tires I bought 2 weeks ago.

Which part doesn't make sense? The transaction, or the part about the government printing money and sending it out to everyone with a checking account?
Go forth and spend wisely. It is your duty to keep this speedy money moving. I'm waiting for the next check, this could get habit forming.
I got my relief check as well , now if there were some guns on the shelf I would be all set ! laugh laugh
$1181.85 deposited in my account 3 days ago IRS 310 was the description.

If you filed your taxes jointly, it'll come to the account on record with the IRS. If you filed separately, it should go to both accounts.
Pure inflation.
you lucky sonofaguns.
Send em back you conservatives......
We still haven't taken the money from the first one off the card.
Really need to do that.

I honestly don't think the country will be around that long.
Mine went into my checking last night but I still have not received the 1st stimulus check. Wierd.
I got mine today. It covers a month of insurance on my private jet. I sure could have used the $2K. frown

Similar to my question. H&R Block is closed till tomorrow. Can't wait to call them for this information. I suspect my money was deposited into the checking account that used to be associated with the debit card I got my tax refund and the last relief amount on, but is no longer associated with that card, since H&R block changed banks recently.
I received a deposit for the family minus one for my son who is in college. I wonder where his will go? He said last time he received a check from the university. Why is the university receiving the check instead of him? It doesn’t make sense.
Just checked out the H&R Block website and found this:

"If you received the first round of stimulus payments on your Emerald Card and haven’t updated anything, it’s likely you will receive your second stimulus on your Emerald Card. Good news, the IRS has all the information they need and there is nothing you need to do!"

So, I assume that this means, even though H&R Block just changed banks, the IRS has that information, and will deposit it in the right bank so that it will appear on my debit card. Just seems odd that I haven't seen it yet when you all are saying you got yours already.

Got our $1200 today

Mine initially showed "PENDING" with a release date of 4 Jan 2021, but it hit my account yesterday. It all depends on how your bank does things.

The IRS will 1st attempt to deposit it in that account if that's the last one they have on record. If that fails, they donate it to the DNC.

Perhaps, but as I stated, I don't how your institution works. As with pay, my bank will post it a day or two before the actual date. Others will post day of.

Checked this morning. We got ours.
I am debating between a mini iPad or Ruger 57🤔. Leaning to the American made Ruger...
$300 TV's are going to be flying out the door at Wal Mart and Amazon will be working 30 hour days to fill the orders. You know so we can stimulate the richest people in the world haha
Got mine.
They giving out checks? what's the AGI cutoff?
My purchase has been sitting in the cart for 3 weeks. Thanks Donald.
Wife and got a 1200.00 deposit a few days ago.
Gotta love that RINO socialism!
The bad part is giving our hard earned cash to other countries. Like 10 million dollars to pakistan for gender studies.
Just got my $600 bucks. I'm reinvesting in America, going suppressor shopping in the morning.
So what to do with it?

Buy Chinese tires or go to Wal Mart?
Maybe shop on Amazon?

What a fuggin joke....
Me and wifey ain’t gonna get cshit!!
Money for nothing and the chicks for free...
My wife makes too much money.

We'll probably get $100 or some schit.

One day of green fees. Whoopdy-fugkin' doo.

That was part of the main budget bill and would have happened with or without the covid bill. Covid was attached as a rider.
Nothing yet. I requested $2000. I am hijacking the entire family's for lathe money. MMGA
I am raffling my $600 stimulus payment off. $20/ticket, limited to 50 tickets, will draw once all are sold.
Reminds me - my office manager asked if the stimulus money is taxable - and I have NO idea.
I need to ask my accountant, Monday AM.
The 1st one wasn't. I haven't seen the '20 tax forms yet but I've heard that you enter it on the form but it's subtracted from your income.

That brings up a point. Some people got theirs on Thursday 12/31. A lot of us got them on 1/1. Different year. That will mess with the 1099's or whatever they use.

So there really was no way for trump to veto?
He could have but he'd have to veto the entire budget bill. He can't veto a part of it. If he had, the budget would have run out and we'd have another government shutdown. It sounds like he worked a deal. He signed the bill to avoid the shutdown but congress agreed to debate it further.

I like me a 41 mag.
Not that I earned it (but I paid it)... I didn't get chit.

I'm broke as hell because things cost more up here, and we get paid more. According to the lower 48, I'm rich and don't need any money. According to my checking account, I'm a broke ass beeotch who has to scrape up $2000 for a frozen water line- yeah, no water right now.

I don't really care about the stimulus, because I'm conservative... but taxes need to be figured on cost of living... this is BS. I pay like a rich guy in the lower 48, but live like a guy making 40-50K in the lower 48.

Umm, no. What logic suggests that? I make a decent living, given the cost of living. The only thing screwed up about this scenario is that the Federal Government taxes me too much. Understand?

edit: "Broke as Hell" is a relative term for someone who needs to keep working to get by... not pulling a few G's out of my portfolio for random costs.

The plain, hard fact of the matter is we need to get rid of about 3/4 of the Gov't and do away with income tax completely. We're living on the crazy train here and it's past time to get off. The parasites are killing their host.

Everytime someone from the inner city or any area with low incomes, no jobs, poverty, crime, whatever complains about their area, conservatives everywhere respond with: then move. I thought maybe that's what you wanted to hear.
Just like the first "stimulus".....

never wanted it... all that happened, was what they were going to send me ( and I would have sent it back)...

it got "intercepted" ( government word for STOLEN) by Hennepin County MN... Minneapolis.... and sent to my ex wife..

that I divorced 33 years ago.....

They didn't even give me the chance to refuse it and return it....

I look at all of it, is that it has to be repaid via taxation down thru our grandchildren's life time....

The democRATS are causing all of this... and the needs that causes it...

democRATS are communists and should be treated just like communists....

ship them to Gitmo, they can stay locked up in Cuba.... with all the communists in Cuba...

Let people go back to work... instead of giving them a few token bucks, and a huge debt for their children's future that has to pay for it...

Well there are a few benefits like: PDF check, no state income tax, no state sales tax and subsistence fishing and hunting and practically no zoning laws.

That won't do any good if you don't also end the Fed. It's the power of the printing press belonging to the banks that brought us to where we are. Sound money needs to be restored. Sound money is money based on a fixed exchange relationship between currency and a commodity of value, typically gold and/or silver. Sound currency has the effect, among others, of imposing discipline on government spending that otherwise is non-existent.

Another Democrat attempt at vote buying with a 3rd stimulus check of $2000 IF they win Georgia...

A Third Stimulus Check? Biden Says ...e Door" if Democrats Win in Georgia

Quote

While campaigning in Georgia on Monday, President-Elect Biden made a bold statement about a third-round of stimulus checks.

Is a third stimulus check in your future? And, if so, how much would you get? According to President-Elect Joe Biden, if Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock beat incumbent Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue in today's Georgia runoff elections, then "$2,000 checks will go out the door." This statement, made during a campaign event for Ossoff and Warnock in Atlanta on Monday, is the strongest indication yet that Biden will push for a third stimulus check after his inauguration.

It was just a few days ago that Senate Republicans blocked a vote for a House-passed bill (the CASH Act) that would have increased second-round stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000. The CASH Act would have also (1) bumped the extra per-child second stimulus check amount from $600 to $2,000, and (2) allowed the extra payment for any dependent, regardless of age, rather than just for children age 16 or younger.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called the CASH Act "socialism for the rich" because it would have authorized payments to wealthy people who weren't impacted by the pandemic, instead of only targeting people in need. Since Republicans currently control the Senate, he was able to avoid a vote on the bill, which was passed last week by the House. However, if both Ossoff and Warnock win their respective Georgia runoff elections, Democrats will take control of the Senate and McConnell will no longer determine which bills get a vote in the Senate. With Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the Executive branch (after Biden is inaugurated on January 20), a third-round of stimulus checks seems likely.

Having not received a deposit to the debit card to which I received the last one (I also received my tax refund on that card in 2020), I just went online to irs.gov and followed the instructions for an inquiry about this. After entering my information, I received a notification that they are sending me a physical check this time, for some unknown reason, and not depositing it to my card. Maybe someone there screwed up and didn't realize I had a card. So, they are saying that my physical check is going out in the mail tomorrow, the sixth of January, and will arrive within a week thereafter. That's actually better, assuming it does arrive, since I can then just deposit it in my checking account, as you cannot deposit an amount on a debit card, for some unknown reason, into a checking account.
A little taste of "Universal Basic Income". As long as a check shows up each month, who cares where it came from............sounds good until you take a look at where that money comes from in the first place.
absolutely stupid to send us any money. You are supposed to be prepared for times like this.

Its a waste of our money to send money out. And so what if we get more money, its going to cost us probably at least 5X in taxes in the future.

Don't need this. We work for a living.

this is just another thing trying to control us. And to think that conservatives buy into it....
I don't get stimulus checks..............
This is how OUR .gov works.
They had 8-9 months knowing that this 'stimulus/cares' money was going to be sent.
Should it be 'needs' based? YES
Does everyone need it? NO
Has my family been financially impacted by COVID-19? YES
Do we need $600 or $2,000 each? NO

It's conjured into existence by debt creation, i.e., a few key strokes bring it into existence. That's how it's mostly done nowadays. Of course, currency creation like that increases everyone's prices, i.e., dilutes the value of every dollar in existence in relation to goods and services, i.e., makes everyone poorer. That, of course, only affects the middle and lower classes, as inflation is basically meaningless to the wealthy.
The government determined I am too rich to help stimulate the economy.

LOL

My wife and I agree . We are retired and not wanting for anything.
At least this time we only got $205.00.
Last we put the money away and ended up giving it to one of my brothers who could really use a little extra.
