I think a lot of support for communism stems from the artificial world that we live in today. Families are frequently single parent female lead homes. Family and friends move to other cities and states, younger people living in apartments without roots or clear career path and they feel anxious. It’s human nature to blame others and to want security.
A politician blaming life’s problems on the other party and greedy capitalist and offering security in the form of big government in exchange for personal freedoms (but never stated like that) is incredibly appealing to some people.
