Anyone install and set up your own PoE IP camera and NVR system?
Has it been reliable? What brand did you buy? Support?
I'm able to terminate Cat5 and have some network admin skills.
I see the 4 camera 2TB systems for less than $400 but have been bit in the azz by cheap chit before.
Only need 3-4 cameras and less than 200ft cable runs.

I've have good luck with Zosi cameras. I have several that are over 5 years old now and they are very priced reasonably well, especially if you are going indoor. However the Zosi NVR was junk. I ended up going thru 2 other brands until I found one I liked from a brand called Annke.

But its all cheap chinese stuff.

KFWA, do you remember the NVR brands that failed?
I thought about building a dedicated computer but that route looks to be more costly than than a dedicated NVR especially if higher resolution cameras are used.
I found a few videos that were helpful in determining location and camera types, I guess that stuff needs to be planned out in advance.
