I stumbled across this tidbit. I thought it interesting.

Gerald R Ford class AC Carrier. Scheduled to be laid down 2026, and commissioned in 2030.

First carrier ever named for an enlisted man, or for a black man.

I would have named it Donald.

As in Trump? He was too smart to be a chump in the armed forces - just ask him.

Political correctness run amok

Not so sure about that, Doris Miller did his part, and yes a Black man. As a retired Navy Vet I have no issues with a ship being named for him. With the money issues, I will be surprised if they do lay the Keel however.

So tell us about your military service. By the way, Trump never said what you are claiming he said. Slick Willy never served. OBozo never served. Broom Hilda never served. China Joe never served. CamelToe never served. Piglosi never served. Chuckles never served and I'm betting you never served.

What was your point again?

I got two of the form letters from the Presidents (standard stuff) when you retire, one from Slick Willy and one from Bush. Guess which one I kept.

Don't know about that, but he was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions at Pearl Harbor.

He died in combat 2 years later, along with 640 shipmates, when the USS Liscome Bay was sunk during the Battle of Makin.

RIP Doris Miller
A Texan.
