Remsen and Slum's beer threads got me thinking suds.
What are you enjoying of late?
One of my new favorites...
I’ve had that..not bad at all.
Guy offered me a Budweiser while I was working today. I didn't say no.

This is my regular, but right this minute I'm knuckle deep into a carton of Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Uinta Detour and (1) Left Coast Hop Juice.
Kenai river blonde style ale right now
Cheers, Jim:
I enjoyed an ice cold Steiner Bock at camp yesterday.
I’m always living the High Life. Champagne ain’t just for rich people.

Not a High Life fan, but their marketing team needs to give you a call!
I generally keep 2 selections in the garage beer ‘fridge, Free State Brewing Company’s Yakimaniac IPA and Budweiser.
I haven't had a beer in a year and a half (Coors Light man...) but over the holidays I had a sip of what my youngest is drinking these days and it was pretty good. Sweetwater Guide Beer.
https://www.sweetwaterbrew.com/brews/guide-beer/
Usually in my fridge as well, along with some type of light beer, like a Miller Lite or Abita Light. I wish we had some of the really light 100cal IPA offerings around here. Better for the waistline after the holidays and deer season are over.
Trooper.
Gotta make a run, not carried local any more.
The ol lady likes Coors Light.
I cant stand Budweiser (or Coors Light ).
Crooked Tree is my IPA choice, Double when I can find it ( is only 12.4 % these days ).
Miller Lite most of the time. Something local when I travel.
Coors Lite/Keystone
Jayco 👍
Russian Imperial Stout.........You'all can keep that horse piss beer.
Stella Artois and Modelo Especial are two of my current favorites. Also enjoy Molson Golden and Moosehead.

Copy that big fella !
Funky name & can, but good beer;
Good red;
I prefer beers with flavour !
At the moment, Nada, but that is subject to change at any time.........
A lot has to do with my location,
in the city
or in the country
what state
or time of day
or eve
or which season
or the desire to enjoy something different, most of the time these days its
Stouts
or a Dopplebock
Tripels from time to time
and just about any time can be
Miller Time!

I don’t drink beer unless I have some
Last night it was Spaten Optimator.
GW, what kind of knife it that next to the Devil’s Backbone?
I'll drink whatever I'm offered but usually live the High Life or drink Miller Light.
I like beer that tastes like..... Beer. I'm not into this whole "its has notes of old leather belt" or "it's like drinking honeydew and birch bark".
Don't mind a mild IPA but of late they seem to be in competition to see who can make the "Hoppiest" of them all.
I like beer. Haven't been drinking much lately, mostly liquor and wine. Of the big brands I guess Shiner Bock and Yuengling lager are my go-tos, but I like stouts, pale ales, whatever, just not "lite" so-called beers. I'd sooner drink soda water. I like traditional IPA's, but most of the boutique breweries over-hop their IPA's to the point that it's like drinking Listerine (the original kind, not the sissified, flavored, non-alcohol stuff they put out today.) Some of the micro-breweries put out a pretty good product, but a lot of them seem to put more effort in to artwork and cool-sounding names than they do into brewing the beer.
Been enjoying a few of these lately.
I loaded up on my two favorite seasonals-Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout and Tyranena Sheep Shagger Scotch Ale.
GW, what kind of knife it that next to the Devil’s Backbone?
A few years back "The Knife-Father" ( I call him that as he's made me quite a few deals I could not refuse) VinceM purchased a number of commercial blade blanks and did a 24hrcampfire group buy. He took orders for knives with different handle material. That one is hafted with canvas micarta scales.
Here is one more more among several others was done when I was "Jonesing" on Cocobolo knife scales.
Vince may or may not have a few laying around. You might contact him here via PM or

Coolers full of bourbon can get out of hand, in my experience.....lol
I tell my wife that decent whiskey is like candy for men. I better not keep it in the house or it goes too fast.
Yuengling, is there any other?

Rauchbier isn't a style I enjoy. I'll take my smoke in Islay whisky.
Yuengling Black & Tan is the go to.
Yuengling, is there any other?
+1
I like Dos Equis draft when we go to eat at a Meskin restaurant
Saw this,
remembered the time I took my daughter out for her first drink.
Off we went to our local bar only two blocks from the house.
I got her a Guinness. She didn't like it, so I drank it.
Then I got her a Killian's she didn't like that either, so I drank it.
Finally, I thought she might like some Harp Lager? She didn't. I drank it.
I thought maybe she'd like whiskey better than beer so we tried a Jameson's; nope!
In desperation, I had her try that 25 year old Glenfiddich. The bar's finest scotch. She wouldn't even smell it. What could I do but drink it!
By the time I realized she just didn't like to drink, I was so [bleep]-faced I could hardly push her stroller back home!!!
ya!

Like this one for cheap beer.
Coldsmoke - Kettlehouse Brewing Co. , Missoula MT
I been drinking that Founders All Day IPA also. Good stuff. Comes in a fifteen pack too
Big fan of Russian Imperial Stouts and other dark beers in the winter. Not one of those but this one is pretty good and what I was drinking last night in front of the woodstove.
Southbound Brewing's Mountain Jam has turned into a favorite of mine. If I'm drinking a beer, that is what it will be.

That mug looks way too cold.

Suck start a Glock.
Just the way I like it. Not much for etiquette.
High Life is a frozen mug beer for me. Stouts and such don't reveal all of their flavors when near freezing.

Seems excessive.

Nope I get it, they usually breathe quite a while. They certainly aren't ice cold when I drink them, just seems to keep them slightly less than warm for the pace I drink them.
Found one that tastes just like beer when I was a kid, called PBR.
Regarding pace, have you ever compared drinking three regular glasses of beer to drinking a large three beer size glass? The three beer glass sure seems to go faster most times.

PBR was my first beer at my best friend Donnie's house. We stole it from his old man. Still like em.
I have returned to my first love, Budweiser. No more light beer for me.

I know I can get in trouble with some of the more potent stouts and those bigger glasses. Has happened once or twice, lol!
Wife and I just split a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy at lunch. Still have half a 12-pack we bought months ago, and then we start on the Sam Adams Octoberfest - which we may get to by summer. Also have a sixer of Shiner Bock on hand. About a beer a month is what I drink. I like beer a lot, but just don't drink much of it.
Unfortunately your beer will become stale at that pace.
This turned out well; no politics.
I'm going to try some of those suggested. Always looking for something new to try.

Yeah, I would agree.
Normally, Old German.
But, last month a friend went to Wisconsin for the weekend.
and was nice enough to pick up a few cases of
Leinenkugel Honey Weis. And smuggle them home for me.
Smokey and the Bandit chit.
They sell some of their line here, and seasonal samplers.
For some retarded reason they sell samplers with beers they
refuse to sell by the 6 or case in our area.
Shiner Bock would be a regular too,
But it's a premium price here, and I ain't paying that.
Not with Old German at $13/case.
And Shiner darn near that a 6.
Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager
Yuengling, is there any other?

I know right. We have had trips planned. Family tree grew fairly heavily through there. Any recommendations?
Yeungling Black and Tan when I can get it. Shiner Bock when I can't.

I used to stay at the Platzl Hotel inn Munich, very near the Hofbrauhaus and the Marienplatz. It was a short walk to the Augustiner Grossgastatte, and a short municipal train ride to the Forschungsbrauerei. A short distance away near Herrsching is the Kloster Andechs.
I was mostly a beer tourist.
Latest kick has been Georgetown’s Bodhizafa or their Lucille IPA. Helps that they are 20 minutes away and growler fills are cheap
Boring ol' Bud Light and some Dot's Southwestern Seasoned Pretzels.
Ya, 10%+ Triple IPA !!!!
Love me some triples brother Paul.
Gonna have a few beers tonight!
Steel Reserve Silver can.
I like the Michelob Ultra Pure Gold. Ice cold.

Steel Reserve Silver can.

For me, ice cold is best for any beer that I care about drinking.
I like ALL beer.
I keep a case of Lone Star in the fridge at all times for daily driving. I then garnish it with various craft beer, esp IPAs.
Tonight' beverage. The Xperiment is pretty good.
budweiser, in the christmas cans! $20/30 pack. Life is Good!
Have you ever been to Bavaria?
I know right. We have had trips planned. Family tree grew fairly heavily through there. Any recommendations?
Go into a bier hall, bier garten, or restaurant. Order what they have.
Go to another one, order what they have.
That's about it, they'll all be good.
I am usually a Bud Light drinker because it leaves no after taste and goes down real easy.
But a while back at my son's house in Billings, I drank some Street Fighter from a keg just sitting there. Now that is some good shidt !!
I need to try it again for a second opinion.
I like Dos Equis draft when we go to eat at a Meskin restaurant
Dos Equiis Ambar is good too.
I cant believe no body has mentioned Ice House yet, been my Fav for years
Grain Belt...The Friendly Beer. Tastes like beer should.
In a bar, Bud. It's easy to say and everyone knows what you mean. At home, anything goes....stout, porter, Euro made pilsner( I drink alone)
Look no further.
So much good beer out there these days - I don't really have a stand by. Always something different.
Right now in the fridge I show
2017 vintage CBS from Founders - last release before it became a yearly
Busch Light
Leffe Blonde
Guinness
Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
Copper State Peanut Butter and Chocolate Porter - local/GB brewery
Crow Hunter had the best recommendation. You’ll probably have a Hefeweizen, a dunkel, and Pilsner offered. Depending on where in Bavaria, you may find a kolsch. They are all good, look to the beer purity laws for why. I need to go back as soon as we can get there.

NVhntr: Don't do much beer drinking at all in the winter (6 months long herabouts) but come summer's I really prefer Miller Genuine Draft (bottles).
Hold into the wind
VarmintGuy
MGD's not bad on a warm summer day. In the winter I like something with a bit more flavor.

Yep but it's not the majority. I think there's 2 cans in there total. It's not good beer, it's not bad beer - it's just beer when I don't feel like a "BIG" beer or I want a drink but still be available to think straight later on.
Also forgot - Unite the Clans - a Scotch Ale. I'm a malt, not hop head.
Keystone light.
For real.
I do like the Shiner beer.
Abita makes some good stuff.
Southern Prohibition out of Hattiesburg MS has some good stuff.
I’m not big on IPA.
PilsnerUrquell
Grolsch
Guinness
Shiner Bock
No IPA
No Light or Lite, ever.
Used to have a Flight Attendant living next door. She brought me wonderful stuff from Belgium and Germany, but alas when her husband moved away, she went with him.
If I could get Yoga Pants from Moon River Brewing in Savannah GA up here - that would be my "house beer" - drink it or water.
Great pale ale.

Gunchamp, if you go over, head a bit north of Nuremberg to Bamberg. Get some rauchbier with some wurst at a restaurant. Thank me later. They smoke the grain for the beer imparting a smoky flavor. They call it liquid bacon, and they aren’t far off. It’s a bit much on its own, but complemented by the wurst and sauerkraut, it’s really good.

That's what Czech pilsner is for.
Grain Belt...The Friendly Beer. Tastes like beer should.
It's the official beer of Bob Stinson Day. Kill a sixer of it while eating a big ham sandwich and listening to the 'Mats and you'll have celebrated the holiday properly.
I grew up on Rainier ---I had to branch out because Rainier isn't always available.

Nothing at all wrong with that list, I like them all; but I also like the hoppy IPAs as well.
Beck's is also one of my favorites.
Tonight's beverage.
This is a mild unfiltered IPA, 8.5% alc.
Good stuff!
Funny thing I have observed.
Snotty Americans drink expensive beers,
talk about how great German beer is,
And condemn our big breweries.
Germans in the US,
don't like a lot of craft beer,
And enjoy things like Budweiser.
i brew all the beer i drink. so lets see, off the top of my head i have in stock:
english pale ale
american pale ale (2)
english porter
american porter
irish stout
american stout (2)
munich helles
barley wine
imperial stout
fermenting 3 feet from me right now is 5 gallons of imperial stout and 5 gallons of german pils. in the next couple months i will be brewing variations of the above. by april i should have 20 or so cases in the basement. that will last me well into next year. the nice thing about unflltered homebrew is that it keeps getting better with age. i just drank a bottle of barley wine from 2014. superb.
6 year old Barley wine is going to be okay - I suspect a 6 year old PA or IPA wouldn't lol.
That said - I had a really nice 3 year old Kriek going and it got spilled when I moved houses. Not saying tears were shed but some neighbor kids learned some new words for sure.
I really should get back into brewing.
Love Surly Furious & Tod the axeman !!
Always have it on our ski trips to the USA !
