Tar Baby.......
LOL!!!
Well this is not about us

This is for a friend
I would never ask such a ridiculous question for my own behalf
Sweet tar baby by the way
If it's less than 100 miles, I'd just tow it behind the truck.
Your friend needs to buy a tape measure and at least rent some common sense.

You need better friends.

wink
The truck?

A hall pass for drivin through the section? Turn the base way up & the bruthas wont even notice yer cracker ass inside.

Well, unless your playing that chic you talk about.

Well, then it sounds like you just need a beer.

(You can't say "hold my beer and watch this" without a beer)

Tailgate up inside is 71"

So this deck will have to set up on one bed rail. That’s what I was thinking.

Probably rub on his fancy paint job.

Got a hunch this thing is 62” wide. Or more.

The other party is hard to get info out of
Thread is absolute bullschitt.

Slummy got a friend? No way, Jose
I don't think you wanna do that.

Usta have have 3 or 4 that I built a home made tonneau cover for. It's still leaning against the wall in the garage.

Had to put on my coat and boots, find a tape, etc.

Cost ya a handful of Cheetos......

Put a couple railroad ties across the bedrails and then set the brush hog on top of them. Might want to put an old towel or rag u see the ties. Be sure to hook the $3 harbor freight ratchet strap to the lip in the fender when you cinch her down.

I approve of this plan.
Couple of 4X4's, and 4 C-clamps
Long as you're not too wide, tie it on top and go! (mimic the Beverly Hillbillies) smile smile smile
I brought a 5' disc and a 16" Dearborn plow home in the back of my F150,...lifted 'em out with a boom on my tractor.

But my F150 isn't pretty. A few more scratches just blend in with the rest.

So yeah. You can haul that brush hog home in that pick up. It's going to need a quart or two of touch up paint afterwards if the owner is particular about cosmetics.

Yessir, certainly.
Get the tractor and road it during rush hour.
Easy need a 3/4 " rope back truck up to front of brush hog Thats end driveshaft sticks out. Drop tailgate .run rope under tailgate equral amounts to both sides,.,.end of ropes up to and over tailgate sides.,.put hog on a pair of 6 x6,s or get about 6 to 8 in off ground..run rope over top of tailgate down to pins on hog tie nice and tight take out blocks drive away .,.,remember flap tire on back of hog only likes to go about 6 mph

Harbor freight is always selling them good movin' blankets, like what we used to have to steal, for something like $7.99.

Get the weed hog home, just give them blankets to the pooches. Cover up that nasty assed couch of there's so you don't embarrass them when you post pics.
Why even try some sh*t like that ?
Borrow or rent a proper trailer and chain
the em effer down for the trip and roll on

First time you have to slam on the brakes
with it rigged in the back of the truck it's gone.

Renting a trailer is way cheaper than an attorneys
fee would be to get you out of jail for letting that
heavy blankety blanking thing fly through
somebody's windshield. Last one I went and
picked up was only about an hour away, but
there were no problems because it was
secured to the trailer with chains, and I didn't
lose it and get sued and have to pay shaniqua
for killing one of her 6 welfare beebees

Good Luck

Do not know about "in it". But it will fit on it.

Lay four 2x4s across the bed rails. Screw 2x4s down along the right and left sides to build a pallet. Screw 2x4 #s 7 & 8 on edge so they lay against front of bed and tail gate to prevent pallet moving forward and back.

Lay furniture blankets between pallet and painted bed surfaces. Set shredder deck on top of pallet. Anchor firmly with ratchet straps. Haul as many hundred miles as needed without putting a scratch on that pretty baby pickup.

The important thing is:

There is a good BBQ place I know of down there.
Full size PU is 48" between the wheel wells so sure it's gonna be on a tilt. Bring some ratchet straps.

But you knew this already.

You could do that, and it'd work, but you won't have any paint left on the bedrails when you get home. Matter of fact, there's about a hundred ways you could haul that bush hog in the truck bed but none of them involve not [bleep] up the paint job on that silly mexican cruiser truck.

Or he could borrow a 5x8 utility trailer of which every self respecting redneck within a three state radius of Tennessee has at least one to haul his 4 wheeler. Lay a 4x4 across the side rails near the front and another farther back, set the bush hog on top of it and ratchet strap the heck out of it. Pull said trailer home while listening to obnoxious boom boom music and eating 7 eleven taquitos.

P.S. The tailwheel does have bearings in it (remember to keep them greased), but pulling it home on the tailwheel for 100 miles at highway speeds ranks up there as one of the dumbest ideas ever.
If he will simply hook it to the front bumper, he can see and watch it all the way home. After all, it does have a wheel it can ride on.

The 2 shredders I have use bushings in
the tail wheels. The composite tire
(made out of pieces of laminated rubber
like 85-90 % of the smaller shredder tail wheels)
likely wouldn't make it very far at paved
road speeds.
Now, most of the bigger shredders, what
everyone calls a batwing, can be road
towed to a degree. Most have bearings and
proper pneumatic tires. I sure wouldn't want
to road tow one over 10 miles either way.
Don't renegade have a connect on the base with access to a helicopter?

And a 20 footer

Don’t want to haul a trailer out on the interstate. Don’t have ‘tags’ on my trailers and had a thing with highway patrol about that.

Then I got a topper on my Super Duty

I don’t want to haul a trailer from the Ky state line to Huntsville Ala for this as stated. I’m GTG around town and no law dogs hassle me locally.

Maybe I misspoke on those tail wheels having bearings. Not sure about this new rig.

Our King Cutter set up on our Kubota is set up with bushings like this one.

Oh btw, cmon, someone else suggested the absurd notion of hauling it down the highly in jest. At least I hope they did.
