You can't "buy back" what you never owned.
What guns? Lost in a fire.
[bleep]
It’s NOT a “buy back”- it’s confiscation
Yeah that will happen, come and try to get mine
What if they aren't for sale?
GOA should have fun with this one.
NRA will be AWOL
First of all, how can he buy my guns back when he never owned them?
Secondly, he can kiss my ass. Molon Labe.
He should ask Cuomo how his registration legislation worked out. The mass civil disobedience will be a huge GFY and a bit embarrassing.
If the media would report it. They have largely ignored it on Cuomo's behalf.
What guns? I sold all mine for $25 and 2 cases of beer in 2010.
First of all, how can he buy my guns back when he never owned them?

In spades.
Nothing I have is for sale.

When that won’t work, they’ll just label all gun owners as “domestic “ terrorists.

Thats fine got to die sometime
What are you going to do if you have to use one for self defense? 10 years in the can and a BIG fine! Felon! no guns! Ashing for a friend, they'll be looking for someone to make an example of!
I'm absolutely certain it will become increasingly difficult to find people who want to take them as badly as other people want to keep them.

They better build bigger prison with no walls, walls don't work
I smell an Eric Holder in the woodpile
I'm more concerned with the bill H.R. 5717. They are trying to make it more difficult to purchase both firearms and Ammunition. It has apparently been in subcommittees since early 2020 but, I'm sure it's going to speed up now that the Dem's have control of House and Senate. You can read the summary or get more details by looking at the titles and I guess can download the whole bill if you have the luxury of time to read. You can read it by going to Congress.Gov and searching for H.R. 5717.
What part of that are they having trouble understanding?

The unwritten part pertaining to "Lock and load"

I like what you did there! 🤠

If no State can do it neither can the feds.
The Bill of Rights is 10 AMENDMENTS and all 10 amended the so-called "supremacy clause" . Every state in order to be admitted to the union is required to honor and enforce the Bill of Rights.
“No state shall convert a liberty into a license, and charge a fee therefore.” (Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 U.S. 105)
Now the last time the D3em/Comms were concerned with law was the same time the Jews were fans of the Nazis, so we'd better get ready to start shooting, but know that there is no lawful way that they can do it, so when it comes to the time for killing traitors you can know the feds are on the wrong side.
"These principles apply as well to an officer attempting to make an
arrest, who abuses his authority and transcends the bounds thereof by
the use of unnecessary force and violence, as they do to a private
individual who unlawfully uses such force and violence." /Jones v.
State/, 26 Tex. App. I; Beaverts v. State, 4 Tex. App. 1 75; Skidmore
v. State, 43 Tex. 93, 903.
he Court stated: "Where the officer is killed in the course of the
disorder which naturally accompanies an attempted arrest that is
resisted, the law looks with very different eyes upon the transaction,
when the officer had the right to make the arrest, from what it does if
the officer had no right.
What may be murder in the first case might be nothing more than
manslaughter in the other, or the facts might show that no offense had
been committed."
"An arrest made with a defective warrant, or one issued without
affidavit, or one that fails to allege a crime is within jurisdiction,
and one who is being arrested, may resist arrest and break away. lf the
arresting officer is killed by one who is so resisting, the killing will
be no more than an involuntary manslaughter." /Housh v. People/, 75 111.
491; reaffirmed and quoted in State v. Leach, 7 Conn. 452; State v.
Gleason, 32 Kan. 245; Ballard v. State, 43 Ohio 349; State v Rousseau,
241 P. 2d 447; State v. Spaulding, 34 Minn. 3621.
"One may come to the aid of another being unlawfully arrested, just as
he may where one is being assaulted, molested, raped or kidnapped. Thus
it is not an offense to liberate one from the unlawful custody of an
officer, even though he may have submitted to such custody, without
resistance." (/Adams v. State/, 121 Ga. 16, 48 S.E. 910).

Honestly, I doubt the majority of the problem will come from those 8.4MM new gun owners.
The problem will mostly come from military veterans and long-time gun owners aged 45-70 who do not have young children and would rather fight than comply.
I think I know a few of those guys.

This is how we get labeled Domestic Terrorosts. They control the media now, they can paint you, and your life however they want. The facts will be distorted to make you look guilty of whatever they want to pin on you.

I finally had to put him on ignore, I have just had it with that crap from him. I deal with their guy in Tennessee, (their last one was a registered Democrat woman from Virginia) he was never a NRA member till they sucked him out of the Governor's office and started paying him, never was a gun guy and could care less really, it is just a job to him, it is my damn avocation. He does not ever do anything without checking with "Washington" first. Damn man what does our Constitution say?
A grizzly ate mine. Here, I'll introduce them......
There are going to be a lot of dead gun confiscators if that passes, and some decide to try to enforce it.
You really think so?
They will show up 20-1, 2 am., door buster, black ski-masks, body armor, flash-bangs, tear gas, full-auto weapons.
If you get a shot off, 2 at most (doubtful) , aim for the head. Or the CNN crew.
Mine have already been taxed once. I ain't paying a second tax or registering something I already ran through an FFL. The corksoakers better get back to the drawing board.
I like the number of Alaskans response in this thread. Makes me proud to my bones.
On W4Bear. About 9 years ago we had a kid that got caught with a 22 lr rifle rolled up in a rug in the back of his pickup that he parked in the school parking lot. A kid ratted on him. They were going to put the hunting kid who was a member of Team Tits- a group of very smart bookish young hunters who all had big trucks, snomachines and other rec vehicles in jail for a long time. I reached out to him and at that time Alaska's NRA had Wayne Anthony Ross and his firm representing firearms owners. They had six attorneys that came up and met with the school administration and legal counsel. The kid was free and back in school after the hearing. Not a single teacher gave that kid an unexcused absence or failed him on a test. I don't know what he did to you guys but he is alright in my book.
Australia had a 'buy back' - but how can the Government 'buy back' what is not theirs in the first place?
The word is confiscation
In this instance, confiscation with compensation.

And the cops who choose SWAT tend to be those who are at least somewhat addicted to the adrenaline rush associated with armed home raids.
This is from 2018 and it sums all this up quite well.

Yup, even if it’s just an old man with funny glasses and his crippled wife.
Remember when the ATF showed up at David Koresh place to “seize” Some illegal weapons.
So the big question is, whatcha gunna do when your local sheriff , the cop that lives down the street, a family member in LE, says hand it over and put your hands behind your back.
Think that 13 page document has any questions regarding the use of Legal marijuana?

Cawps.
There were some attempts to introduce a gun tax on municipal level in German e. g. Bremen and Iserlohn but it failed due to legal reasons.
Just go through what Hollywood puts out. Huge percentage is crime or violence themed. Very little imagination out of Hollywood.
Ain’t got no damn guns!!!

If that works for more than a day or two, people are not being creative.
I suppose you plan to leave your guns on the porch? To save the door?
Glad the patriots in the 1770s didn't cop your attitude.
This whole charade highlights a severe misunderstanding of the entire Bill of Rights. The First 10 Amendments were not written with a theme of “the people get to this, and this, and that.” Rather, they were written to list the main actions the government (and many times specifically congress) were NOT ALLOWED to do. Those framers were so very self aware. Knowing many of them would be members of said Congress and that unchecked power tends to run away, the placed limits on themselves before they ever entered the halls.
And I’m not splitting hairs as to wording. There is a HUGE difference between “the people can have guns,” and “government cannot infringe on the people’s natural right to own guns.”
Sadly there many in our nation who view the Bill of Rights in the reverse of their purpose.
exactly.............
coming past Heber tomorrow
taking the ole square body GM to Rock Springs
Like here in Aus, it may a long game of slowly chipping away at rights and freedoms.....all for our own good. Boo, hoo, keep up safe Big Brother.
