Three of our labs just can't get enough of the woodstove. While it's not really cold outside, only about 32, we do have about 6" of new snow. The house stays super warm but they just have to jockey for a good position. The pup in the middle gets so close I have to move him back some.

Fine looking pups gentlemen. Mine lay around and pant when it’s 68 in the house. So they lay on the porch a lot or in the garage where the concrete is cold.

Daisy likes the wood stove.

My old Weimaraner Chelsea would sit less than a foot in front of the woodstove with her head up in the air warming her neck. She would then fall asleep and her head would come down till her nose touched the stove. Yikes! She had a pink burn scar on her brown nose for the rest of her life.

i was the dog this past weekend at camp. other than a walk up the mountain, i spent 4 solid days sitting in front of the wood stove shoveling food and homebrew. wish my house had a woodburner. no room.

Thanks looks are deceiving though. The guy that built this (and 3 more houses around the corner) went to jail for not paying his taxes. He stopped by after we bought it and was so proud to talk about his fireplace. No blowers. Doesn’t get enough air. Burns a lot of food for minimal heat. It’s eventually going to get removed and done right. Plus wife hates the river rock. She’s going to lay it up in limestone, she thinks.
