Drove part way across town today on an errand.
Passed like ten gas stations all out of gas. I still have half a tank and don’t need to be anywhere.
It could start to get ugly out there.
Thank you Joe Biden.
Jumped 10 more cents a gallon here.

Thank you Joe Biden.
Yep, and you won't be able to vote these policies away. After the deep state saw that nothing was done about the steal, elections are, from this point onward, 100% fake.
$2.25 at Walmart last night. That's up .25 from it's lowest this winter. We just got back Sunday from a tour of WA and OR. Right here's the cheapest gas we saw in all 3 states. We saw some for $3 along the way. In the Portland/Vancouver area, many stations are in the 2.80 to 2.90 range.

Saw on the local evening news that hospitals in Shreveport are without water and probably won’t have it for 48 hours. Bottled water being brought in.
Saw $2.25 last Saturday at the Red Mesa trading post. Cheapest gas I saw on the Rez. $2.28 at Mexican Water . Both Sinclair Stations, pretty good gas.

Guessing FEMA may be a bit stretched about now.
The price of gas going up like Europe will transition to public/ busses and electric .
It was promoted for 15+ years as the model of the future.
Even the commies working in the VA were pushing for acceptance along with eugenics of the old.

Mot sure, but if the original poster is like me, the freeze had a lot to do with the gas shortages -along with power outages and a few other problems it caused. South Texas doesm't have much weather like this!

Right next to the gasoline run generator in the living room.
Surprisingly I’ve not read about any lately. Maybe folks learned after the hurricanes.
Poor bastids all over the south are spending the night in cars running their heaters and depleting the gasoline.
I keep 25-30 gals on the shop at all time, tractor stays full and keep diesel cans full too. Even have a a little bit of Kero
Filled up all the cars and trucks before this stuff rolled in.

Just a wildasssed guess.........maybe some have been living in a hole, but there have been mass power outages across TX, including the Gulf Coast, where millions of barrels of crude are refined daily into fuels. Many of these refineries are idled, down, etc, meaning bbls are taken off the market that are otherwise available. Guess what happens then, when supply falls drastically? Nat gas is much the same......thousands of wells are down due to no electricity, and gas plants are idled as well. It's not that complicated.

Unforeseen for sure. I think higher crude prices are inevitable under Biden. He's hell bent on taking US bbls off the market one way or another, and that will be bullish on crude. If crude is higher, it will give him some ammo (at least to use and make believable to the dumbasses out there) that green energy is cheaper than fossil fuels. Short term I think prices will fall back down some after refineries and gas plants get back on line. Then comes Summer, and Biden will have the USA cured of Covid and people will start traveling again, sending prices back up some. Just my opinion.

Sir I don’t think the next couple of days is the time to travel, this article from this afternoon states the tanker trucks are held up by the weather.
https://www.kxan.com/news/local/aus...ring-bad-weather-hoping-to-deliver-soon/Another statewide snow/icing event tonight into tomorrow, followed by near-record cold forecast Thursday night and Friday night
It all ends Saturday morning, I have no idea exactly when supply catches up with demand. Gasoline is hard to find here in San Antonio and I have been told there is no gas in Kerrville, 70 miles northwest of here.
Left will turn TX blue one way or other.
So true. You don't vote blue, they'll squeeze your balls until you turn blue.
Folks are fussing about fuel prices when they ought to be looking at some common sense regulation of Texas utilities....where things as simple as winterizing monitoring instruments and transfer valves might have kept natural gas fired generating stations on line. El Paso, which is connected to a regulated grid if I understand correctly, did not lose power if I understood the MSM news.
Fuel prices traditionally jump a bit in winter and also when something, such as hurricane, fire or tornadoes, damages refineries. This is no different. Now, when production volumes and costs get back to normal and the oil producers and refineries keep prices up, then perhaps complaints will be in order.
When I get hot water?
Wuss
I think every wind turbine in TX should have a natural gas generator sitting next to it.
Just got back from Buc-ees and filled up the F-250...$2.19 a gallon. I bought a coon skin cap so if it gets cold here in the panhandle.

This "event" while refineries are converting from "winter blend" to "summer blend" is just one of those ongoing unfortunate timing things.
Biden's stated energy policies are not helping the market, either.
Sucks to be US!!!
According to a Bloomberg news blip, domestic oil production is presently down by 40% mostly due to the cold fronts and particularly in the Permian Basin.
Got word late from my Ex BiL that two local gas stations had gas. One didn’t, at the other all they had left was the hi-octane stuff. Passed another three that were out.

They're constantly refining and transporting fuel, 24/7 normally. Redneck, there's multiple refineries shut down along the Gulf Coast. TX and LA possess 75% of the USA refining capacity.
My son works at the country's largest refinery and it is producing zero product, 650,000 barrels/day at 42 gallons/barrel is a lot of lost fuel in the system from just one facility. I am sure other refineries have similar issues. He just texted that they have a nominal 500 leaks to sort. It will be a while...
Maybe this will shed some light as to what is going on down here.........EdM, thanks for the update. Gas producers and plants out this way are suffering the same fate as they attempt to restart some plants.

Whatever refined fuel products are sitting in refinery tankage is increasing in value by the day as is that in oil tankers sitting on anchor minus demurrage costs.
The same corporate mindset and design parameters that build power generating and natural gas transmission facilities with exposed, unheated water and air lines probably doesn’t buy semi tractors for their tanker fleet with engine block heaters and airbrake line antifreeze systems.
How’s the diesel fuel situation? Are vehicles dying along the road with gelled up diesel fuel?
My Shell station only had Super this morning - cost me $2.84/gallon to fill up
Anyone who hasn't been buying and storing away a 55-gallon drum of gasoline every payday since the Arab embargo in '73 has no business complaining.

I remember John Denver getting a LOT of blowback when it was revealed he was sitting on, 500 gallons?, of gasoline back then.
It was probably bad gas he had in the plane when it quit running or maybe the dumb fug was rocky mtn high when he was flying it and forgot to fill up either way had to be the glasses fault.

John was flying a home built airplane that was built by someone else. The fuel tank switch valve was plumbed into a shelf behind his head and required that the pilot manually turn the valve. The speculation is that he ran out of fuel in one tank and when he went to reach behind him to switch the valve he pushed hard on the rudder and already had the stick pointed down while he was gliding down. This cause the airplane to go badly out of trim and then into a wing stall. The rest is history. So yes, running out of fuel in the tank he was flying off of lead to the crash.
it's a heat wave up here today. The news says it will get to 14 degrees today. I went to work Tuesday morning and it was -15. The high for the day was 6. I drove to Chicago and they had 10 to 12 inches of new snow on the ground and a high of 22. When I got back to Iowa it was 0 degrees.

Thanks Mike. And thanks for the Alamo update!!!

Only thing to watch now is how fast the gasoline supply gets back to normal. There’s still four five-gallon plastic gas cans been sitting on a high shelf in the garage since Y2K 🙂
They are still clean inside, thought about going out looking for gas for family in case they were short but it weren’t really worth the risk of driving amid the crowds all out looking in this weather. Then too I dunno the quality of gas when the service station underground tanks are almost out, could be particulate matter and such. I’d hate to give em bad gas.
Plus those gas cans have those idiot “safety nozzles” on them, IIRC ya get as much gas on you and down the side of the vehicle as you do in the tank.
Anyways, crisis about over here.

You're quite the dumb ass.
I suggest you sit your broke ass in your house and stop endangering other people with your bald tires and stupidity.
Figured I’d give you something to talk about.
