+1 so do I and further more after seeing these panics since the Clinton's I still fail to understand why anyone who likes to shoot isn't allready stocked in his needs with an adequate supply. Mb

Ditto...
My old post on "How To Reload"... from back in the day... amazing it has almost 30k views. Haven't been on that site in ages. Maybe it actually helped someone. Who knows.

Apologies if that sounded cocky... I just never saw Hitlary losing and circled my wagons early.
Hard to judge. Saw some weird brand of trap shells at $69. Probably should have bought a bunch at that much per flat. 9mm, only box I saw was $39.99 and I told him KMA.
I've got enough components for a few years of I slow down a little and at 76 I'm slowing down a little.

One thing I have noticed by watching the auctions on GB is that ammo is somewhat drying up.
There are far fewer choices at higher prices than there were a week ago.
One particular brand was 3 pages listings of buy/auction last week. The same is less than a page this week.
We a planning a trip to a gun show tomorrow, It should be interesting.

Doesn’t matter to me. Ammo isn’t on my buy list. I want Ball jar lids.

Walmart.Com pick-up at the store.
They were stocked well 3 days ago.
My LGS has 9mm at 20 a box of 50 ( brass case ).
Whenever they get it. Goes quick.
Local RK had some at same.
State forum the folks want crazy prices like GB.
I sold two boxes of Rem .35 rem ammo for 75 bucks and im dropping it off half way
Recoup what I spent and gas.
No gouge.
despite all the sanctimonious comments, there are others that just bought a gun in a caliber they did not previously have ammo for. Even the hand loaders have supply issues, and there may well be no resupply for months. Or years. No matter how much you have, you haven't covered all the bases or prepped for all contingencies.
Just talking about something else besides ammo. I have plenty. But I keep tabs. Walmart where I live and at the one in Covington, VA had none. Covington had 4 empty boxes. Hoarding has many definitions.
Is anybody in Woodbridge, VA involve in canning?

I see tons of canning stuff. No lids. Jars with lids, rings with lids, but no lids.
It seems as though it's spiked to the highest its been from the get go. 223 nearly as high as it was just before the Pres. election 2016.
With grey optimism, I see it rising a bit more but leveling off the middle of the year.
A new mass shooting, or a new passed anti-gun bill will only blow out any prediction we could have. Prices we've never seen.
Well, since all commercial sale will obviously be done away with, the going price will be whatever the entrepreneurs who have wisely filled their warehouses demand. The fact that those conducting these transactions will be ruthlessly hunted down by jackbooted thugs will command an even higher price due to the risk involved. Since there will be no "cost of replacement" due to the forced closure of all commercial operations, there will be no ceiling whatsoever on that front.
I don't have any idea high prices will go or for how long but I have been following on-line auctions with ammo. One that is going on now has a 1400 count bucket of Golden Bullet Remington 22lr currently at $250 and 50 rd boxes of 380 ball at $60 with an additional 13% buyers premium added to the final bid AND the sale still has 9 days and 20 hours to run.
I saw another one that had some CCI lr in 50 count boxes that were at $25 and that sale was still active. Fifty cents per shot for 22 long rifle .... crazy.

Sam,
If just for hunting I suspect I would never have to handload again for 20 years, at least. I might be shooting a hog with a 416 Remington though... That said I and the boys are set to play as well.

That is not an unrealistic projection.

The LGS by me has tons of ammo, literally. But, mgr says buying has slowed recently because of price. He says owners will just sit on it, people aren't going to find it elsewhere.

It is also my opinion that OSB will go from $8 per sheet on January 1, 2020 to $32 a sheet on January 1, 2022.
Don't worry... many will get a $600 stimulus check.
"Inflation is lie perpetrated by racist white Supremacists against the glorious working class of United Socialists of the Americas. "
One year ago AssPro/Cabela’s had a sale: CCI Blazer brass 9mm ball ammo was $8.79 per 50 rounds. Limit of 50 boxes.
November, 2019 Academy Sports was selling CCI Blazer 9mm 500 round bulk packs for $85.
All we need is another Republican President.
I think what I have right now is gonna have to last me indefinitely.
I wish I'd of bought more ammo when I could of. There's no telling what might be coming about.
I don't know about July 1st but a friend told me today he ordered two boxes of 380 from Natchez (I think Natchez) today for $100 a box of 50! Two bucks a shell lol, told him he's an idiot
I'm not paying near that for 9mm, though those prices are all over the place. Paid 28 bucks last night for a box of 50.
We a planning a trip to a gun show tomorrow, It should be interesting.

If you're paying $28/box of 50 for 9mm, you should buy every single box you can lay your hands on.

Ron, that was the story at a big gun show I went to last weekend in West Palm Beach, FL. Lot of people buying ammo at high prices. What I've also seen is they are only buying 1 or 2 boxes at the asking prices. ?? I don't see what that's going to do for you. You'd shoot that much up just in initial practice.
The prices at that show on 9mm ranged from lowest at $39.99/box to $50-55-60/box.
Pretty much what it is right now.

I was at a shop (Grice's) the other day that had 9 in three different flavors, 15.99 a box. Limit one per customer though.

Wow
There must be a reason so many people are stocking up on ammo at ridiculous prices. Also lots of first time gun buyers. Are people nervous about what is going to happen in the future? A reflection of people's attitudes toward the present administration and the past election?

Awesome. Glad you got it.
Just bought some PMC bronze 9mm 50 packs for $20 a box at an LGS. He had plenty.
People are damned scared and worried. Between a liberal/progressive/communist/socialist POTUS/Senate/House that has "common sense gun regulation" on it's mind, the defund the Police movement, and the riots/insurrections/turnings that we have all seen on TV for the last year by the anarchists, people are damned scared and know the government/police are NOT going to protect them.
This is why you are seeing the panic buying and increasing prices on a daily basis. We still have a ways to go before it shakes out...
