Home
My mom is in a nursing home and it was her birthday yesterday. We just happened to have a doctor's appointment for her. The nursing home is on strict lockdown/quarantine so this is the only time we can actually see our mom in person, so I flew back from Montana to CA to be here for the appointment.

I was shocked at what I saw on my short trip to the SF area. First, there was a very large protest in the Sunset district (used to be one of the blue collar areas of SF, still not as crazy left as the other parts of the city) with folks collecting signatures to recall Newscum. It wasn't a freak show type of protest, it was normal looking working people who were fed up. I've never seen something like it in SF before.

THEN, when the ambulance transport got us to the hospital for my mom's appointment, the staff there ushered us into a closed room and told us we have an hour to hang out with our mom, no masks, no distancing, no restrictions. She's had both rounds of the vaccine and the dr there told us he will not comply with inhumane government orders that keep families separated (and yes, I caught the amazing turn of events with that phrase). The nurses even baked birthday cookies for my mom and had presents ready for her (she has Alzheimer's, so she didn't quite understand it was her birthday, but she loved the attention).

The medical staff was in actual tears, complaining that they are forced to operate "speakeasies" for families due to the government policies that are keeping people in a pointless state of separation.

Word to the left: When you've lost SF, you really must have crossed the line... But I know this is too little, too late. Still, to have doctors refusing to comply with government orders that keep families apart is something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. It felt like I was in some third world dictatorship (which I was, in effect).
One thing to remember about "the left"...when their masters teach them to be disobedient to the government (under Trump) sometimes there are residuals when the new government comes to town.
Great story, Rem.
Good news
I'm glad you got to see and actually touch your mom. That's so important for her and for you.

My best friend couldn't do that because of the restrictions, while his mother died all alone in a nursing home. Tragic.
Good to hear R...
Lumping us all together out here makes easy jokes for the dim witted.. but it just ain’t so
People around here are gradually pulling away from the restrictions. They were never enforced as strictly here as in the leftist enclaves, however. Restaurants are seating people inside. They ask you to wear a mask to enter, but once you're seated you can remove it.

I also see people walking around in stores with no masks. The employees will often have their masks pulled under their chin.

I've not seen anyone giving them any trouble about it. Basically, I think people have about had a belly full of it all.
There's a good chance that Gov Newsom is going down but he'll just be replaced by the Lt governor who I'm told is just as bad.
Going to cali next month and I'm curious how it will feel. It's so strange when I go places that are "woke". The tension is palpable from the people.
When a govener gets recalled,it is with a vote. 1st vote is ,should gov. Be removed. Yes or no? 2 nd is vote for who replaces him. Last time there was over 100 names on ballet. Last time we got a Super RINO. Swartzanagger.
Glad your mom had a great day. And glad y’all got to spend time with her!!!!

I know CA has some unusual state laws. I hadn't heard about that one. Every other state I know of replaces the gov with the Lt gov. That how OR got the lemon they have.
We kicked out a openly socialist Mayor backed by Bloomberg/Oprah money voted in a Conservative and Religious candidate supported by the local Repuke party.

Hopefully the lt. gov will get it. Newsom will be a pelt hanging from a fence post.
I'm glad you got to spend time with your Ma, we never have enough time with Ma.
Newsom was gonna try to run for President some day. Best to kneecap him, now.....

Almost.

Oregon does not have a Lieutenant Governor, therefore, the Secretary of State serves in this capacity.

Will wonders never cease!

Glad you got a visit in. Was hard enough for me living hundreds to thousands of miles from my mom when she was in the care facility. To have administrators tell me I couldn't see here when I had the time to go for a visit might have pushed me over the edge.

Congrats to your mother's doctors.

And yes, the people of California are getting a bit fed up. Even the left wants a somewhat normal life to return.

Exactamundo baby.

Nip it in the bud. Well, being he's a relative of Pelosi, maybe this isn't but work but a necessary pruning job.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you for sharing that Remsen, I'm not sure if I read this somewhere or if it's an actual original thought either way it seems fitting. We most see the light when we are coming out of darkness.....

The enlightenment came about after the dark ages.....

JFC...What a shît soup the liberal and RINO politicians have made for some to eat.

All in all, it sounds like your mom had a good day seeing you.

🦫👍🏻
Remster, glad you got to partee' a bit with Mom. Good news about salties taking up against that pond scum Newscum.
Thank you for the snapshot.
Glad you got to see your mom.
Truthfully, that all sounded better than I would have expected. Glad you had a few good moments with mom.
