Mother nature is amazing.
About 13 or 14 years ago we took a ride on an AK glacier tour boat and saw some minor calving. Certainly nothing even vaguely approaching the size of that, though. You sure don't want to get to close to one.
That smaller boat got out of dodge
Way cool! Thanks for sharing!
Very impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Incredible, ib. Thanks for sharing.
We went to Alaska back in the summer of 2019 and went on a glacier tour from a boat. It was record breaking heat there that summer. While we never saw calving like that, what was different in 2019 as compared to the time we went in 2007 was the sound of the ice breaking. Sounded like a clap of thunder. And there was a lot of that cracking sound. Like every 10-15 seconds it seemed.
I thought this was going to be about a cow-calf operation on a glacier. Figured global warming was getting out of hand.........
Fascinating and most impressive. Thanks for posting that.
Wow, have seen some decent calvings, but nothing like that, what a show from mother nature.
Thanks for posting that, have to pass that on to some friends.
Doing well here sir, hope you are as well. Wanting and waiting to get back up for a visit as soon the dust settles on all of this nonsense.
