Most my family is on the south island.

Magnitude 8.1 at the Kermadec Islands, 600 miles North of NZ. We have a tsunami warning out for the North Island of NZ.

There was also a 7.4 prior to the 8.1 at the same place, and a 7.1 just 60 miles off the NZ coast early this morning.

Maybe that's why NZ is nicknamed the 'Shakey Isles'
