I missed this somehow, if it’s been posted before. Died March 25th, 2021

One of my favorite modern authors.
Grew up in Archer City......I feel bad for him.

For those who are wondering , James is his son .
One of the best.
Loved the original mini series. RIP.
Sorry to hear this. Lonesome Dove is my favorite of his writings.
A talent that won't be for gotten !

Amazing writer !

Great books and an amazing mini series. R.I.P.
Hard to believe that the guy who wrote Lonesome Dove also wrote Broke back mountain.

He didn't write the book,he adapted the book for the screenplay.
I have not read the book. And apparently, I am the only person on Earth that found the TV miniseries to be absolutely insufferable. I TRIED to watch it, but it was so bad.
I read the book in the mid 80s. Loved the book, still do.

I served my apprenticeship in Seymour. Last Picture Show, Texasville, Dwayne's (sp?) Depressed etc were right on the money. My friends in Texas couldn't see it because they were looking into a mirror. Good times.
