Been about 35 years since I went to a concert. Alice Cooper iirc.

Friend of mine wants to see Chris Stapleton(?) in concert in Syracuse. Best tics are $400, cheapest are $91!

I don't even know who he is!
And I'm glad of it!

Last ones wife and I bought were around $200 IIRC.

Crazy stupid prices.
Went to a bunch of concerts in the 70's/80's.
Would get the tickets from the box office, most were in the $15/20 range.
There isn't anyone I think is worth paying $400 a ticket for.

Wifey and I go quite a bit. If you want to sit up close to see a big name, you gotta pay. The best time to see a singer or group is on their way up or on their way down. When they are on top, they command more. We saw Van Halen from the front row in the Toyota Center when David Lee got back with them. We went for our anniversary. It was a 1000.00 for the two of us, plus hotel in downtown Houston, plus drinks a 14 a pop. I’m lucky and make a lot of overtime, use that money for crap like that or trips. We saw George Strait in Vegas 18 months ago, half ass seats were 200.00 apiece. It’s all about what you like to do and can afford. When I retire, that cshit will have to stop.

Chris Stapleton is a fine country singer, hell of a guitar player. He is big now, ain’t cheap to see.

tickets in the 70's were 8-9 bucks for groups like ac/dc, zz top, black sabbath, etc. the big shows like zep and floyd were 10 or so. the most i ever spent was 130 for zz top at a small local theater a few years ago but they ended up cancelling. i find that concerts these days just don't suit my ears. i wear ear plugs and still come out with ringing ears. takes the fun out of it for me.
Posted By: hanco Re: Concert tickets - 04/17/21
I wear ear plus too if I’m sitting close.

the old days of standing 10 feet in front of a 2 story stack of speakers is probably one of the reasons i go "huh?" a lot.

A jack and coke was seventeen bucks when we saw The Eagles early March 2020 before shutdown.

It was 30 bucks to see this RedDirt singer Kolby Cooper. He was extremely good, lots of fine looking young ladies that night.

Friend of mine trying to retire... asked advice.

He does custom glass.

We told him to raise his prices so he would get less work.

He bid a "normal $10,000" job at $35k last week.

...and he still got the job.

Concerts are the same thing.

I bet the Rolling Stones could sell tickets at $5k

The Mrs. and I saw the Marshall Tucker Band at the Levoy Theater here in Millville six years ago for only $40 each. Still hard to believe they came to this little town. Unforgettable show!

I think I paid less than $10 in the seventies when they were in their heyday and both Caldwell brothers were alive and rocking.

$600 or $700 apiece (I don't recall for sure) for wife, daughter and me for Joan Jett opening for Heart in Memphis in Oct.2019, second row seats and a meet and greet with Ann and Nancy, worth every dime..

Cost the buck$ to get close. Fortunately I live in a singlewide trailer and am independently wealthy.

Right at $$1700-2000 for these Dallas tix, btween the Snake Pit and Club Meredith. LOL just off the main stage.

The Nashville show a month earlier (july 2019) just off the 50 yard line, only had about $800 for the 3 of us at the show.

wife and daughter, no telling how much they spent to see Taylor earlier at the Chicago Soldier Field show, they hit Louisville, Atlanta, Kansas City. Same summer.

Her 2020 shows got cancelled due to covid19 restricts, TicketMaster sent us a refund for $4900. Luckily we didnt use a scumball middle agency for the Tix and got full refunds.

some serious shît, I had to be the designated driver on a couple of the runs.

I’m dreading the cost of flights to New Zealand or Australia. Oh well.

$350 a pop to see Maiden "Book of Souls" at United Center, 6 up from the floor, 25 or 26 back from stage.
Good show, worth it.

Next yr saw round 2 of tour (same basic show) at Hollywood Casino (also Chicago) and was 40 back and center, paid $150 bucks and thought we got ripped off.
Too shallow seating so hard to see and sound wasn't right (or acoustics sucked).

Think maybe 175 bucks a ticket to see Legacy of the Beast, good seats (daughter in fan club) and could feel the heat off pyro. Sound decent.
Was a fuggin blast.

However..........was front row in '99 at Aragon for Maiden's "Ed Hunter" tour and that was 35 bucks. Smaller place,, general admission, was brutal hot out.
Old inside venue ( Aragon Ballroom),,,,,,,,fire trap. Great show but tough conditions (heat and people crammed in).

I can't stand for a 2 hr show anymore, my back needs a break, so reserved seating it is.

Lawn sucks, too far back. Nice to lay down when fuggin hammered though.

In 2005 front seats for the Stones were $2k

Saw Cream at Madison Square......price on the tickets were $315. Paid about $600

Totally worth it.

On the floor a couple of rows back from the ropes for the $500 maybe 6 rows in that section.

Front seats scalped for $6k.

Last lawn show I went to was an Incubus/Alice in Chains show

Some old biker gal come and laid down about 10ft below us on the slope, rolled over and barfed about a gallon of what looked like 3-bean salad. Then rolled her face in her own puke. All while still daylight.

Her indian chief lookin boyfriend was gone and came back with another burn-out, shoveled her up and they dragged her off to a dry spot.

Next hour of daylight, we got a chuckle of people pointing to that awesome open spot before us, only see that gallon pufdle of barf.

Eventually it got dark and some couple tossed a quilt down over it and sat on the mess. lol

Went to a "3 Dog Night " concert in the 70's. They came on stage and during the "mike check" asked if everyone in the back could hear alright. The folks in the back said no and the response was, "you should have gotten the $5.50 tickets up front".

300 hundred with fees for 3 tix to see Alice in Chains and Korn a couple years back. Great seats about 10 rows back behind pit but when show started they moved us to front row. First time at the Ameris amphitheater, great venue...just a pain to get to from south of Atl.

Wow. Serious fans, daughter and son in law saw her a few years ago. I just don’t care for girl singers, but have seen Heart a few times, and Cher.

My first concert was about $15 for tickets on the floor. I ended up dead center about 5 feet from the stage. It was Queensryche opening for Metallica on their and Justice for All tour. Metallica was tough to open for at the time and queensryche wasn't very well known but they did great.

Queensryche is coming to the Ft Hall Indian casino here next month. I might have to see what tickets cost now.
