I see it as being a swipe at men objectifying women as being only good for sex. Her sexual parts are removed, from her person, and a volcano erupting in the background signifying a man getting his rocks off.
I don't know where the sentiment comes from that art should be apolitical. Art has always been political and it will likely always be political. The problem is that nowadays there is a proliferation of particularly lazy art, driven forwards by pretentious idiots who think their thoughts are deeper than they really are.
The opposite of this would be something like a Thomas Kinkade painting that says painfully little while looking sickly sweet, even though it is somewhat well made.
I feel like a lot of the (often justified) hate towards the art community comes from elitist gatekeeping. This has nothing to do with the art itsself, though, but you have to, at least make an attempt to look for what it means. Not what the artist meant when he made it, but what it means to YOU.
Well here goes in my book the farther women get from being a woman the less value to themselves they are. Just the way I see it fugk anybody that don't like it. Mb
I believe we should tax you locally and we should tax you federally ...... then we should have an art program that we can fund with the money ...cause everyone needs wonderful wonderful art.

I don’t see it as art. I see it as wannabe hipsters pretending that “they get it” and are therefore part of the in crowd. O’l Warhol was probably laughing his gay azz off all the way to the bank.

Label doesnt bend w the can. Dunno why. Warhols stuff sucked, but it was a middle finger to the establishment.
A lot of modern art sucks. But then so does a lot of music.
As long as the buyer likes it, good enough. Just dont mistake a lack of talent for genius.

All I see is a female without the necessary body parts that allow them to feed, give birth, nor even conceive standing alone on a barren plain with a smoldering volcano far off in the background. Clearly symbolism, but of what I have no clue.
I think it is a representation of todays sexual interchangeability (aka: transexual crap). Except there needs to be a insert with a males parts that can plugged in. Kinda like Mr Potato Man/Woman.
What I get from it is that from the beginning of humankind, a woman is not complete without the natural reproductive and life-giving parts of her anatomy. They are the essence of a woman.
Kind of a dig at the trannys….that they will never be real women.
Why can't art be something that's a joy to look at. I guess that's why I managed to piss off just about every english lit. teacher I ever came in contact with.
