I have always found BT to be right in my wheel house (opinions very, this is just mine) and I always thought of it as a Best Buy for the money. Until now, it was not long ago I bought it for 18.00 a bottle, then it was 22.00 at Sam’s Club, creeped up to 26.00 most places, last fall it was costing me 28.00 when I could find it. Today I saw a bottle and started to pick it up and saw the 32.00 price and put it back. Picked up Bullet Bourbon for 22.00. I still like Buffalo Trace but it’s not the free ride it use to be.. Taste and opinions vary but for me I’m a bit bummed.
I bought a bottle yesterday... $32
I don’t like it. At all. I’d rather drink Bulleit.

Covid supply and demand?
Bulliet rye is some good stuff. Not sure I’ve ever had the regular
Check out some Evan Williams single barrel vintage....between 22 and 25 here and to make sure you have the right bottle it's the only one that is waxed and cork. Very nice especially for the price.
+1 on the Evan Williams Single Barrel.
I’m not opposed to venturing out on other makes. But damnit I really really liked my BT at 22.00 a bottles.
It’s like hookers at 20.00 a pop, things are just nice.
Ok I’m not into hookers but just wanted to make a point .
Bt was 16.00 on sale here 18 months ago, yup over double that now. To bad , one of my favorites.
Evan Williams, Black Label.
I don’t like it. At all. I’d rather drink Bulleit.
Same here.

Damn good. Can’t find it any of the three local ABC stores but the hole in the wall store near my cabin always has it.
At least you can find it.
I'd pay $30/750 and buy 12 bottles.
It's unobtanium.
Early Times is still a bargain
After the 5th shot, it’s all the same chit

Same reason i drink Keystone light.

I'll drink BT, but IMO it is far inferior to Bulleit. I'd say Bulleit is a bit better than Wild Turkey 101, which is my go-to and is usually $32 (but for the 1.75l jug). Usually BT is $26 and Bulleit is a bit more but that's in about half the quantity of WT.

Bulleit.
Another good taste/price point is Jim Beam double oak!
Weller at $38 a handle is my choice. If I want rye it is Bulleit.
George Dickel is okay. Henry McKenna is too.
The world is short of water and you pollute it then drink it.
Awesome tools and bottles of excellent tasting water, awesome!
Not a Buffalo Trace fan, but everything seems to be going up in price.
I had Russel Reserve 10yo with a touch of lemon on ice tonight. It is sweet enough that it makes a great bourbon sour.

Can not remember the last time I had 5 shots in a night. One good one is all it takes.
How do you like that Weller Special Reserve?
With all the good bourbons available, it hard to imagine anyone choosing BT unless it was all that could be had.
One of the rawest, least smooth choices possible.
MM
You have a way better selection. I do need to go buy more of the BIB Evan Williams and look for different barrel numbers on the single barrel Jim beam
I like Bulleit too but lately I have become hooked on Larceny. It was $29 for the 1.75 at Costco but it just went-up to $32.
I still like it a lot at that price.
I'm normally a Blanton's, Weller, Willett guy but they've become too hard to find and I'm saving what I have of those for special occasions. I think I have five or six bottles of Blanton's on the top shelf right now along with some Basil's and Jefferson Ocean this and that and some Woodford Reserve among others but ...
Larceny has become my go-to daily bourbon that doesn't break the bank. It was really a surprise. We served Fighting Cock as a mixer bourbon (for coke and ginger) at our Cockaboose for so long that when their regional sales rep stopped by to see us and brought us a bottle of their Larceny .... it was a pleasant surprise.
Another one to try is old tubb out the Jim beam distillery.
My preferred bourbon is Garrison Bros., but it's rather pricey. I went to high school with both Garrison Bros., so I do get to drink it on occasion - they always bring several bottles when we meet up at the ranch.

I thought I felt a disturbance in the Force.

I dunno... seems like you have a lot of info🤔
Im not a Buffalo Trace nor a Weller Special Reserve (SR) fan. Evan WIlliams Single Barrel is better than it's price. If you are a Buffalo Trace Distillery fan try the Benchmark Single Barrel, $20-$22, much better than Weller SR. I prefer Willet Family Reserve Rye however their Johnny Drum ~$26-$30 is also outstanding.
I like the Col. EH Taylor small batch (40 bucks a 5th) but I fear it's gone the way of the illusive Pappy Van Winkle.
Blanton's mixed with Mt Dew.
Garrison Brothers is distilled at Hye, Tx. FYI
Blanton's mixed with Mt Dew.
I prefer it with Diet 7•Up.
Four Roses regular is a bargain.

Ya, ya, ya.... drink it the way you like it. The Reserve is too sweet for my liking neat. So I added a few drops of fresh squeezed lemon juice, did wonders.

Philistine comedians.
I'll take 101 Turkey any day over BT.
101 Turkey is a real value.

There's stuff that's better, but you've got to really pay up to get it. WT101 is a best buy for the ages.

Where are you buying handles of WT 101 for $32? A fifth is $23-$25 in NC/TN.
A handle around here is 32-33 for WT. I typically buy maker mark handles for 39. They are both regulars in the cabinet.
Any old moonshiner can make a better drop than all that high-priced stuff!

That's the typical price you pay at a Sam's Club in the mid-south.

There is stuff better and worse. 101 never seems to disappoint.

I have had what I consider great moonshine twice. It is not exactly all over the place in South Dakota.
Again for folks whose taste runs along mine, It’s a shame that this once very affordable drink will be reserved more for special occasions. At least in my house.
