Anyone know the rear gear ratio in the Dodge Charger SS with the supercharged 6.2 liter engine?
I think it has 700 or 800 HP.

2.62

It will go faster than you need to be driving it.

My friend just ordered a '21 Redeye. It has a 8 speed auto and some weird ratio like 2.62:1. The low geared option is a 3.09:I guess the transmission is geared to provide quick quarter mile times.

Rich, Car and Driver says the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat 6.2 liter makes 717 supercharged ponies.

It has an eight speed auto tranny with 2.62 gear ratio in the differential.

Note: SS is kind of a Chevy thing.

The 2.62 gears gives it plus 200 mph capability.
Eight speed tranny gives it 3.5 second 0 to 60.

In the old days of my memories, you could get one or t'other. But not both. That's why a lot of guys had two differentials, one for race day, and one for the street.

Back in the day, you get 3.23 and 4.10 from the factory, I ran 4.56 gear with my big blocks and 4.88s with the small block dart I raced. Still got my indicators to set up differentials and my gig for narrowing rear ends axel housings. The 8 and 3/4 Mopar rear used a pumpkin like a 9-inch ford and was easy to just swap the pumpkin for a different gear ratio.

Dana 60 you couldn't just swap the pumpkin, but they are bulletproof and I ran those in my 73 charger and 69 dart.

I run 5.14's in that 1970 Hemi Cuda with 15x33 Goodyear Eagles, hell, you can turn that little 509 Keith Black 9000 rpm's, the sheet metal tunnel ram and alcohol Hat Injector like the RPM'S! grin

“SS” what the hell??

blasphemy

What year ?

Youre talking cubic centimeters and liters.

Must be some new year models

Older 8-3/4 pumpkins

2.73 to one, 3.23 to one, 3.55 to one, 3.73 to one, and 4.10 to one

Dana 60 was usually on the bigger options 440,426 cars and mostly 4:10

Not 100% if the 8-3/4 had the 4;10 ring set

Got my 3:73 out from under a Charlies Chips panel van thing. 😃

I had a calculator for figuring hp, gear ratio, and tire size for running the 1/4 probably in my buddy's barn in Mathis, TX with a bunch of my other stuff.

10-4, that little Cuda's just sitting out in the trailer, dont race anymore, came to the conclusion it's not scary enough, cant find a hobby to feed that big of an adrenaline rush and still stay alive. cool

Thank you, gentlemen. I just hard of something called the Helephant. Apparently it is a 426 C.I. with about 1,000 HP. Since I am a 77 year old teenager I will use the 426 engine in my "68-'70 AMX if the Lord wills my investments come in. And since I am running out of time the investments need to come in this year. By the way I plan to use the running gear from a JEEP RUBICON Unlimited.. The wheel base and track are very close to the same.

Good for you Ringman. Liftin’ weights and buildin’ race cars at 77 is way better than sittin’ on the couch gummin’ shredded wheat with sugar and sweet milk while watchin’ Matlock reruns on the TV. 👊🏻

Know where you can pick up a rear-engine dragster for a pretty good price.

Since I finally sold the three acres of woods behind my house I ordered a Pierce titanium long action, Trigger Tech trigger, a 7mm Proof carbon fiber barrel (Since I'm old I don't remember if it is 26" or 28".), a Jack Kiester carbon fiber stock, and March 2 1/2-25X52 w/ FD 1 reticle and Talley light weight rings. The Manson reamer is based on the .338 RUM but using 7RUM or .300 RUM brass to get an extra .100" longer neck. Jack Kiester is doing the machine work to thread the barrel for the brake and action. I'm hoping for a sub seven pound rifle since I'm such a sissy boy when it comes to recoil.

Great run Roger

Our Charger / 446@ 13.3:1 running shaved Edelbrocks ( 2295 pistons on stock rods ) was running a 3300 stall and we were conservative with a 4500 module in the msd. She ran 10.80 @ 123, about 625 hp. Cheap build, but did what we wanted it to. 950 Nyutten single carb. Car went to Canada, the engine didn't.

That jeep Dana 44 axle will fold like a cheap table, get a ford 9" cut and some shafts with the right stud pattern.

Thanks. I was hoping someone would make a suggestion. Maybe I should leave it up to the car builder.

9-inch fords are pretty much standard and cheaper to build, but a Mopar 8 and 3/4 would keep it all Mopar and is really no different than the ford, and might be cheaper to have built if you can find one. I have a few in my buddy's barn.
