It is now state law. Goes into effect Sept. 1st.

Ceremonial signing of it and other pro gun laws tomorrow at 11am.
Great news!
Good, bad, or ugly, it's the right thing. Congrats.

My state got it last year & no gunfights in the streets or the Walmart so far.

Hell! we all know that some folks are going to carry whether they are licensed or not. What's the diff?

Texas makes 21 IIRC.
16 states I believe.
Great, about time!

Awesome another state giving back a Constitutional Freedom that was never theirs to take barring punishment and imprisonment.
Congrats to the people of Texas.

Incredible good news, rock.

Now, let's see which other states follow suit. Hopefully, mine.
And it looks like we will be completing that border wall here also.

Been carrying my whole life, nothing will change for me. Rio7

Still waiting for this here in Louisiana but with enough votes to override the democrat governor’s veto if necessary.

Our governor did just sign a marijuana decriminalization bill lessening charges for possession, etc.

ETA:
Don’t mess with Texas.
I'm glad Abbott finally signed it. I was beginning to wonder if some kind of game was being played.

I remember back when Florida adopted concealed carry...I guess that was the late '80s? As I recall, there was a nationwide outcry...blood would run in the streets. The wild west was being resurrected.

Funny how, on a state-by-state basis we are winning these battles, but the nationwide war over 2nd Amendment issues is a tossup at best by all appearances. Maybe it's just a perception thing, I dunno. What I do know is that all the accelerated gun buying over the last year means something, and I do not think it means Americans are going to turn their guns in if/when the demoncrap/socialist/marxist/totalitarians say we must do so.

Molon labe.
Just in case I have not been clear, I would like to add: FUCK the BATFE and all the jackbooted federal thugs.

There.
Welcome to the fold Texas! Keep that train rolling across the other states.
Congrats Texas.

Unfortunately, the buffoons running the state of Alabama won't pass constitutional carry. The Sheriff's are making too much money selling these illegal permits.

Last week, the Alabama House Speaker spoke at a luncheon I attended. I listened to this hypocrite talk about how they have passed legislation to protect our 2nd amendment rights No matter what the jack booted feds do. Then he has a BS explanation for why constitutional carry once again failed to pass.

Lyin [bleep].
Fugging Alabama?

That surprises me.

From what little I can tell, it looks like the younger generations of lefties are more tolerant of the 2A than the Boomer lefties. Judging by online comments anyway, there seems to be a growing trend of young leftists deciding they want guns to defend their glorious revolution against the evil fascist hordes. It seems to be the diehard older generation of Commies who are still shrieking about evil AR-14s.

There may be a point in the future where gun-grabbing is not a serious issue.

Sheriff's charging $20/year for a CCP.

A deputy in South Alabama who is also a member of the House was fired earlier this year by the sheriff for supporting constitutional carry.

You could be right. I don't think any matured leftist could endorse private firearms ownership, but the young just have to be awfully confused these days. It wouldn't surprise me much at all to see a lot of ideological backpedaling over the next 30 years. But then again, who in hell knows?
Why wait until Sept? This should be immediate.
From the TSRA:

Wonderful news from Governor Abbott this afternoon! Officially, HB 1927 Permitless Carry was signed today, but will be also part of a larger bill signing tomorrow.

TSRA is headed down to the signing at the Alamo for the bill signings of :

HB 2622-2A Sanctuary State (Representative Holland),

HB 1927-Permitless Carry (Representative Schaeffer),

HB 1500- 2A Protections during Disasters/States of Emergencies (Representative Hefner),

HB 957-Texas Suppressors (Representative Oliverson),

SB 18-2A Protections during Disasters/States of Emergencies (Senator Creighton)

SB 19- 2A Anti-Discrimination - the state can no longer do business with private businesses who discriminate against the gun industry (Senator Schwertner)

SB 20- The Hotel bill-which requires hotels to allow you to carry concealed directly to your room or coming from your room to you car (Senator Campbell).

SB 550- The LTC holster bill that allows those who wish to carry openly, to choose the holster that suits them best as opposed to current law which requires either a shoulder holster or a belt holster. (Senator Springer)

We are thoroughly delighted that our Governor is signing all of these bills tomorrow.

Thank you again to all of you who worked so hard to get these bills passed. Congratulations to you ALL!

As always, if you have questions or comments, do hit "reply" to this email and it will come straight to my inbox! I am always here for you!

Thank you all again!!!!!!

Nothing will really change for anyone except a whole bunch of people that have been selling license training.
Dear Dennis Bonnen (previous house speaker): GFY with a cactus!!!!!
Congratulations! Now Texas is just about as close to being free as they think they are.
When will constitutional carry states start honoring CC with other states that have it? We have it in Idaho. Why shouldn't I be able to go to TX or a Texan to Idaho and have the same rights?

Sen. Chuck Grassley killed reciprocal (licensed) concealed carry for all 50 states at the end of 2018.

True
IMO there shouldn't ever be a need to worry because
those who are not trustworthy shouldn't be running
around loose
God bless Texas!
Congratulations. Tennessee only beat you by a hair. Ours takes effect July 1.
Outstanding. I can't wait to shoot up the place. wink
About time but it should have no conditions.

If one is not a felon or other bad folk it should be natural.

You beat me to it. This is indeed true and has been proven so time & again. Hopefully, it will restore a bit of humanity as well & put a serious damper on all this NBN groid behavior. Most semi-sane people will think twice about mouthing off or assaulting someone if they know they will be instantly kilt by an openly armed citizen.
Awesome! Congratulations Texas!
States with Constitutional Carry... (Kind of like reciprocal LTC carry states) smile

Texas becomes the 21st state to have CC.

States with constitutional carry laws are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas (Sept. 1), Utah , Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Has the FL legislators proposed any legislation, or sent anything to his desk?
I hear Abbott is about to finish that wall Trump started as well.

It used to be but Antifa, BLM and Lieberal Demoncraps, on the whole are not polite.
Won't happen in NM as long as our midget dictator Lujan-Gruesome and her cohorts have control.

There's lots wrong with that.

Expensive.

Defensive measure, rather than offensive.

Still have to turn wetbacks over to the feds for distribution throughout the US..

Don't be fooled.

A LOT of Abbott's latest crap is nothing but political posturing.
LIVE from the Alamo at 1100 today (right now!):

https://foxsanantonio.com/watch
Holee SCHITT!!! Sitting at the table at the Alamo are Lt. Gov. Patrick, Gov. Abbott, Spkr Phelan, and WAYNE LAPIERRE!!!!!
Wasn't something in the bill that said if you carried before Sept. 1 there was no fault? Looks like to me it meant you could start carrying today.

He has his faults, but he's a hell of a lot better than the next Democratic governor will be.

Believing that someone will get everything they want in a political environment is pie in the sky thinking.
Signed it at the Alamo. Adept political move, and much appreciated 😎

I figure the Left is about to launch a full-court press on the Alamo story with that new book coming out.

Heck I missed it all, I’m on I 64 in Eastern KY, gonna blitz by the New River George on my way NY State.

AM 1370 “Knee Deep in Bluegrass” on the radio.

Life is good 😎
Republican governors continue to perform for their citizens and not for their bank accounts like the Demonrat governors.
Congrats Texans!!
I would have figured Texas to be one of the first to do this, but better now than later. Or never.

Let's keep them coming.

Birdy,

The new Alamo book appears that it will be "THE" poster child for revisionist history!!!!

Yep, it’s gonna get all sorts of press coverage, stuff WE already knew for the most part, but cherry-picked and quoted way out of context.

Every Historian they misquoted in it is gonna be appalled.
I read a short on it on google! I just set there with agast!! WTF???

Truly a bolshie publication.

Actually I believe they are striving to make him a hero fighting foreign interventionist.

The revolt was entirely caused by internal political upheaval. Centralist against Republicans. Mexico was ripe with revolts not only in Texas but also in Zacatecas and Yucatan. All due to Santa Anna’s repeal of the liberal policies of his Vice Pres Valentin Farias. Who was the real prez during santa anna’s term i. Office. See old Antonio Lopez just wanted the title of Presidente. He didn’t want the responsibility. So he let Farias run things while he stayed at his hacienda at Vera Cruz! Watching how things went. And he could step at the best moment when he could become like a supreme generalissimo and not worry with all the other free republic BS.

Figures! 🤪
Im really giving the bare bones cliff notes version. It’s much more complex. I left out a lots of important back stories. Like the liberties guaranteed by the constitution of 1824. The difference between the way a state vs a district could govern themselves. THE SUPPORT THE TEXIAN SETTLERS GAVE SANTA ANNA IN 1832!!! Texas wanting to be an independent Mexican state.
Lots, lots more!
Mexican history is an exhausting, chaotic read.

Santa Anna’s career is likewise an exhausting, chaotic read, he sure weren’t shy about killing folks tho, his fellow Mexicans for the most part. IIRC he was responsible for the the deaths of around 1,500 citizens of Guanajuato and Zacatecas in 1835, Ballparks to about three times as many Mexicans as the number of Texians he would kill in Texas in 1836.
