I like using the old Redfields on my 95s and 1886. What I need is a gunsmith who will drill and tap and / or machine the base to fit a Winchester lever action. The gunsmiths here and about Richmond Virginia seem to be parts swappers rather then gunsmiths.
Thanks for any insights
Jim
the 95 and 86 are very different. try classifieds or gunshows to get the right base.
Ive installed several Providence tool company copies of the #21 Lyman on 1895 Winchesters. May want to look into them. I got mine from Buffalo Arms. I don’t know if they still have any in stock or not?

If you go that route, you will most likely need to install a taller front sight as well.

Good luck in your endeavors
Thank you both.
I believe Providence made a #21 copy for the 1886 too!!!
Skinner Sights custom builds lots of peeps, they may have what you need.
