His new '61 Corvair AKA 'MorrVair'

He's very popular on his U Tube channel

Off road recovery mainly in SW Utah

Love that show..... I bet he is making more money than ever thanks to Y tube

My folks had a pair of those Lakewood vairs', red and white.
Mom sold the Studebaker to "upgrade".

He's one of my favorites on youtube. He's like a kid with his cars and knows how to offroad. Some of the situations he fixes are really amazing.
This recovery is Epic. 3 vehicles to drag a Jeep out.

I watched a show where someone had a motor home way down in what appeared a creek bottom. I kept saying to myself,"how did they get it there!!"

Money is NEVER mentioned as far as tow bills.
He even mentioned not mentioning it.
Due to regional and situational costs varying.

He really never mentions money.
Not even in the cost of a component in his builds.

Another taboo subject is "just what in the hell were you thinking/doing
to get stuck like that"?

People called his business, and pay their bill.
He treats them very well, when they should often be embarrassed
by their situation.

Have been a few I'm pretty sure went out to do a bit of diddlin',
He never asks "why did you drive a Cadillac into the sand, under
this bridge, in the dark?c
Great videos. People really due some stupid stuff.
I would guess a about $1000 average with the jeep running $5k

Good afternoon sir, I hope the weather is behaving for you folks down in Utah and all who matter to you are well.

Thanks for putting up that video, it's a fine channel for sure and others on the 'Fire might enjoy it as much as some of us apparently do.

I've been subscribed to them and FabRats for quite awhile now and while I've not yet coughed up the US$ for a kinetic rope, it's certainly on my wish list.

The recovery techniques can be educational, but mostly I watch because the area is so very different from what we go 4x4ing in.

For anyone interested in our part of the world, this is a chap from the Lower Mainland who goes all over BC and this happens to be on a mountain we can see from the the top of the driveway where we hunt once in awhile.

This is a trail a couple hours west of us towards the coast.

Anyways sir, didn't mean to derail the thread, I'm a fan of Matt and crew for awhile as mentioned.

All the best.

Dwayne

Yea.......Matt's videos are fun to watch even if UR not an off roader

Yes...educational too.........

Never have seen a winch rope blanket yet though

Carry on.......
tikkanut;
Thanks for the reply.

From your lips to God's ears on a winch rope blanket sir! eek

I use a heavy blanket lined Carhartt jacket that's always under the seat of the pickup. Maybe the new Dyneema ropes don't take out windshields like the wire ropes do?

I'm still old schooling a wire rope on my Warn and while it hasn't bit me, I observed the aftermath of a cable failing on buddy's new at the time GMC. It wrecked the grill, hood, windshield, windshield trim and dented the roof....

Otherwise it was all good... wink

Thank again and all the best.

Dwayne
I keep wondering what some of those recoveries ended up costing? Might be cheaper to just leave it there and go buy another vehicle.... wink
I can't even imagine what a recovery would cost by them. I know for a hook here at our sand dunes the wrecker charges $200 just for his tires to hit the sand. Nothing for a bill of $750 just to get out of the dunes I heard. Told my wife that if she breaks down, she better start showing some skin to get. Someone to pull her truck out.

Where those guys go, dang. Gonna be pricy.

We’ve been enjoying his videos since just after our trip out there last November. The Morrvair just needs a bigger gas tank.

Some of the mountain recoveries are my favorites. The Chevy 1500 on the rocky trail with two wheels off the edge and the washout that the keep JZ fell into. Seems like a good and decent guy.

+1

recently found his channel and enjoy it
Ever notice how many people he helps, gratis?

If he isn't called out, or just out running around and finds
someone stuck, broke down or a flat, he helps them like a
normal person.

Not exactly a common thing for people in the trade.
Some, would charge their mother for a push on a snowy day.

Matt & his crew are good people....entertaining also
Definitely worth watching. Entertaining.
I saw one where he was retrieving a full size pickup off the northside of Boulder Mtn, on an ATV trail. Piece of the recovery vehicle fell off on the way in! threw it in the back, we'll fix that later.

a lot of dunes south of St George, he probably does most of his (boring) work there.

I hope I never have to have him pull me out of the Parashant.

made me look......

Named 'Boulder Mountain' for a reason

leave the women at home, and don't talk so much. That might make the video worth watching.
