They are checking your papers.

The decision was made after three employees and co-owner Armando Celentano tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. All four were reportedly vaccinated against COVID-19
Screw them. The restaurant business is so competitive they will be out of business in 6 months.

Do people actually carry vaccine papers around with them?

The vaccinated owner and employees proved the absurdity of such policy
Good luck with that..

That was/is my point
So the owner of the restaurant and three of his employees get vaccinated, become infected with the CCP flu after the fact and now the owner decides to force patrons to have proof of vaccination before entering.
Stupid on so many levels.

DITTO!!!!
While I think a restaurant owner should have the right to determine who is allowed to eat in their establishment, sadly, that hasn’t been for 50 years or so.

He’ll get to fight lawsuits very shortly.

I agree.
Who the hell wants to eat there, all the staff has the bug.

Also means they weren’t great at hygiene and hand washing before.

I’d think someone will try to make a discrimination case out of it. Even if it’s considered frivolous, he’ll still have to deal with it.

Just guessing, but a person who has a medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated (if there is such a thing) will be denied service. They’ll then be able to sue under the ADA’s provision that a reasonable modification needs to be offered due to their disability.

This would of course need to be someone with an actual verifiable medical condition identified by an actual doctor. Someone afraid of going down the slippery slope into authoritarianism wouldn’t stand a chance, nor would a guy so fat he can’t breathe in a mask, etc etc.

Can’t happen, discrimination cannot be associated with something you as a person can change, like your age or the color of your skin.

What Stickfight said.......
"I think it's a bunch of crap," David Carpenter told WSB. "It's everybody's choice, that's what I think."

My kinda guy......
Wife and I banned a few local restaurants for covid craziness. They lost out money for good.
That restaurant is @ ground zero for the Atl gay activities
Let them go Broke
I don’t think he can legally demand to see the jab paper because of the Hipaa law. He will or should get sued on this.

Clearly those vaccinated employees should have been wearing masks......lol
It would be very difficult for me to eat at an establishment that preferred I wasn't there. They control the food preparation from start to table.
The restaurant owner has the right decide who he wants to serve. I have the right to decide who I want to spend money with. In this case, I would simply take my money elsewhere…

If they were all vaccinated and still got it, doesn’t that prove the vaccine is ineffective? A rational person would have to go the other way and not GAF whether any of their patrons were vaccinated.

Pretty sure many conditions could preclude someone from getting a vax shot. Within the last couple of weeks, there is a story of a woman with a scholarship to Hawaii being refused admittance because she cannot get any vaccines, she has Guillain-Barre syndrome. Last flu shot she had left her paralyzed, UH doesn't care.
Best thing to do is avoid going inside the I-285 perimeter. Let the people and businesses there starve out. That would be a good start to making Georgia a livable state again.

Or a religious based exemption. The list goes on. Imagine if he said transgenderism is a mental disease (true) and consequently a matter of health so no trannies in the restaurant. They'd go nuts.

IIRC - HIPPA only means a health care professional can't disclose your records to an unauthorized person.

HIPPA does NOT mean that absolutely anyone/everyone can't ask you about a medical condition.

HIPPA will not be a legal winner for someone suing because a restaurant asked your status.

Yep, need a pic ID as well.
Wonder when we get separate water fountains and have to sit at the back of the bus?

They won't even let you on the bus without your "oxygen mask."
All public transportation in the country has been banned use without a waterboarding rag over the airways.

I'll be surprised if biten doesn't require injections for flights and roadways eventually.

It's been used in some restaurants for tracking/ tracing.
Of someone who tests positive was in the dining room with others, all others are considered contagions.

It is all too easy to become that which we seek to defeat even as we endeavor to stand for right principles,

I have no doubt there is a post modern Napoleon waiting in the wings should we choose that path of the French.
Meanwhile in CA...

...Italian restaurant posts sign requiring patrons provide 'proof of being UNvaccinated': 'We have zero tolerance for treasonous, anti-American stupidity'

The establishment just posted a sign on its front door requiring that patrons provide "proof of being UNvaccinated."

"We have zero tolerance for treasonous, anti-American stupidity," the sign reads. "Thank you for pondering."
And the establishment wasn't through.

"Los Angeles Times prints an article about us, and again here come the haters, and with it, the harassing nonstop phone calls, threats, and hundreds of one-star reviews," the post read. "And guess what? We at Basilico's Pasta e Vino wear it all as a badge of honor! Attention: tiny tyrants, wannabe little dictators, pro-lockdown/pro-mask/pro-mandatory vaccine mini-Gestapo American traitors and snitches, and yes especially 'Gavin Pelosi' and 'Stronzo Fauci' ... We feel blessed to go into battle against all of you in defense of American liberty and freedom, so bring it on!"
