Short book “Seven Men at Day Break” is a worthwhile read. Fiction in terms of dialogue, but otherwise a compelling re-living of the events from the czech point of view.
Anthropoid, the movie, about how it went down...

FWIW the film portrays the turncoat, Karel Curda, as betraying the hiding place of the assassins in an attempt to forestall even worse reprisals by the Germans.
with the nazis and communists, you might as well get your licks in where you could, since they were going to kill all of you one way or the other.
The part I liked the best is that he died of infection after quite a while.

Like most top Nazis, he was a psychopath.
Some of the German soldiers were true badasses. Like the guy commanding a tiger tank who destroy a whole British armored brigade.
