Anyone know what is/was causing the big delays for IRS tax returns? What used to take 3-4 weeks is now taking 3-4 months?!?!
They had no problems cashing my check.
I filed my taxes in early April. I got my return last week.
Probably because the IRS is handing $$$ out in the form of stimulus packages to every swinging dick in the U S of A like they're the money fairy.
Now it's streamlined and better than ever.... But wait, no, still a CF!
I got my return this week.

Well...our accountant said that in all here 3o plus years on the job....they have never changed the tax code in the middle of TAX SEASON!
Still nothing here. Can we charge interest every day?
Do mine with turbo tax on my wife’s macbook pro, submit it electronically, get a ring dinger on my cell phone about 10 days later, money is in my checking.

Badda bing

Do ours in Feb, soon as all our 1099s show up. I don’t screw around till the night of April 14

Been like that last 8-9 years

And I have about a 30 page return.

4 months since I E filed and still waiting. It’s BS

UH HUH ! Waiting here too.
It took 3 months to get my money. $600 dollars less then what the tax preparer submitted. I did receive a check in late December or early for $600, so I guess they deducted that.

I suggested that my employer stop holding out the deductions until we were even, but I am sure the feds would frown on that.
Just got mine this week. My accountant said the hang up was the stimulus payments and if you claimed you failed to receive one that you were, otherwise, eligible to receive. If that happened, you claimed you didn’t receive the check on line 30 of the 1040. I never received the $1200 payment issued around Christmas so we “recovered” that payment on line 30, increasing my refund by $1200.

Apparently, that throws things into a tizzy according to the accountant. I got my refund, minus the $1200, with a nice letter telling me I I don’t agree with this, simply call this #. I did and got a recording saying “due to the high volume of calls we cannot answer your call at this time, goodbye.” Click.
Return ??
Try calling them. That will keep you occupied for weeks.
i was laid off for a few weeks in march and filed for unemployment here in PA. just got paid this week. pretty much gave up on it.
good thing my ass wasn't hanging out. but theres plenty of mf'ers that ain't worked a day in their lives getting their EBT cards filled on time.

the only beeotch is that with the inflation on building materials, that money is literally worth half of what it was when i filed for it. it will all go to lowes unless i can find a hooker who takes debit cards.

They charged me a 75 buck fee for not witholding enough for the money the think they are entitled too.

You get the schitt on my terms even if I have to pay a penalty.

Just the principle of it in my noggin.

And you guys not getting returns are being treated as minons by the feds outta spite it seems cause you pay taxes and they owe you money still.
Almost like informal punishment it seems.
I would suggest adjusting withholding in the future to break even and use your money currently instead of them using it from the informal loan interest free they treat it as.
Cause they sure as fugg aint giving you interest on it..

JMO....
Yep. I was planning on adjusting it. I haven’t been able to get with payroll... that I forgot. Thanks for reminding me.
Filed mine March 28 and still waiting on my 1k return
