Warm dry days in Montana seem to make the fishing hot.
Took a couple days off to have at it.
With little effort were catching Bows, Cuts, Browns and Whitefish all in the same river.

Had no problem pounding on these Rainbows, they were sucking dry flies down as quick as they hit the water.

Got inpatient with these Brown Trout trying to get them to strike at a fly and just tossed hardware at them.

Great picks and nice fish. Going Sunday but there won’t be any that big.

Best of luck, hope it goes well.

We fished a 4 mile stretch of this river from Monday till this morning and never saw another soul.
Amazing times in Montana.
Hahaha!

Glad you are enjoying it.....
Great fish!
The warm, dry weather here in WY has the opposite effect... for me anyway. The worst fly fishing summer I have had to date.
I am a bit jealous!
Those are some beauties. Way to go, kid.
Those are some pigs. Looks like a great time! What river are you on? They closed or hoot-owled all the nearby rivers due to high water temps so no fishing after work for me! Lots of fisherman in the bars instead of on the river in the afternoons now. Fish in the morning, whiskey in the afternoon! Lake fishing is an option whistle

Pickin' on kids are ya?

Nice fish kid, no matter what dingle balls says.
Love everything about the OP.
JeffA: Great work there - keep it up!
And be sure and pass along my congratulations to the young, happy and successful fisherman.
I have been seeing more and more grasshoppers these last few weeks - I better get out there after them myself.
Thanks for sharing.
Hold into the wind

Not at all. The kids did great. The photographer should know better. Teaching the kids to fly fish--there's not much better; kudos to OP. Teaching them to cheat on the photo-documentation--not so much.

Anyone that fishes for Bows or Browns regularly can easily tell the size of those fish, extended toward the camera or not.

Fishermen are notoriously known for stretching the truth, the extended arm photo technique is barely a obvious tiny white lie.

It's right in there with people saying they weigh a little less than they actually do..

So tell me, what do you think the length is on the Bow and Brown I posted?
I pulled a tape on them both, how deceptive are the images?

Is this one taken a couple weeks ago as deceptive?

The kid is 11 years old, his arms aren't very long.

I am experienced enough to know, even with the long arming those are really nice and chunky trout... good job Jeff
Nice fish and sweet pics!

Exactly!
The tell all is in the girth.

Good stuff Jeff. No shame in hardware, lol. Fun when they're hitting dry flies though.👍
