Has anyone just used their concealed handgun license for photo ID and residency over combining a driver's license when buying a gun in TX? With the new change in law on Sep. 1st where you don't need a concealed carry permit anymore, will it still be useful to use to avoid the background check delay?

Thanks.
Short answer is yes, if you want to avoid the background check when you purchase from a dealer, then you will need the LTC.
What does LTC mean?

License to Carry
The 4473 form normally requires your drivers license for ID. A separate section on the form allows the use of your LTC or concealed weapons license information to avoid the background check.

^^^This^^^

But you’ll still have present a valid TX DL for ID also.

The 4473 requires both on the back of the form.
Those with a LTC won’t require the NICS Background Check.
Similar in Montana. My Dad loved the convenience.

I haven’t had to provide another ID other than the LTC, unless it was a suppressor. You still have to fill out the 4473 with the LTC but they can’t delay you, at least that’s how my purchases have been.

Your drivers license # is on your TX LTC.
But not the expectation date. Which is required on the 4473.
I wouldn’t want to be a FFL Dealer that the fuggin Waffen ATF caught doing that.
I’m guessing they would suspend the Dealer’s FFL at the very least.
My LGS requires both.
That’s not on you, SB, but your Dealer.

3 different dealers, one of them was Bass pro. I’m pretty sure I didn’t show anything but LTC.
