3.5 miles, 2.5k
I live about a mile out of town, which has a population of 57,000.
Too close, and too many.
3 miles. 2500
12 miles 18,000
25 minutes. 106,447 or 24,188 depending on which town.
Wabigoon: It's 3.5 miles for me to town and the town has 4,200 people in it.
I love "country living".
Hold into the wind

16 miles 7,700

Too close and too many....
Don't know, doesn't really matter to me.

4 miles maybe. I live outside the county seat, the big town.
3500 people maybe.

Don't consider this "country" or rural.

Grew up 5 miles from town. 100 people, 2 bars, tiny store, post office,
bunch of churches. That was close to country.
15 miles and 2500.
5 miles and 3000 or so. Edk
10 miles now, the city has been growing. Maybe 450K.
2 1/2 miles and approx. 1800 and I am too close to too many !!!
We live in town now and Charleston has a population of 135,000. Actually, though, we live on-campus at The Citadel and that's a little different than living out in the community. Still, it's a bit of a switch for my wife and me. Up north, our place was about 3 miles out of our hometown which has a population under 400. Our county up there has an area of over 2800 square miles and a population that's now under 108,000. Yeah, a little bit of a change for us.
I live in town for now. About 10,000.
1/ 2 hour drive to 3 different towns.
Small, medium or large.
7 miles outside of town; population 26,000.
8 miles, 2k
25 miles from 3 towns in 3 different directions.

One has 60k, one, 5k on one, and 2500 on the other.
I’m in town about 2,800.
3 miles
Population 9,000
1.5 miles, 3,500
13 miles 2400
I’m downtown. Easy to charge my Prius. Population: 125,000
Edge of town, about 8,000. "Rural" areas are so subdivided and covered with trophy log homes and McMansions, that you might as well be living in town.

Pretty much the same everywhere.

Gotta laugh, guys post 10 miles from 100's of thousands.
How is that measured. A city of that size is more than 10 miles across.

We are 100 miles from Pittsburgh.
But, most people see the fuster cluck of civilization after about
60 miles, and call it all Pittsburgh.

I guess city is what you call it.
I quickly learned driving a truck into NYC that only Manhattan is NYC.
Who knew?
Up there, it's
Brooklyn,
Bronx,
Queens,
Staten Island,
The City (Manhatten)

This hillbilly though he was in NYC 40 Miles back in Jersey!
1.5 miles - 10,516
Couple three Klicks. 870,000 plus ➕

3 miles..........

12K..........cows & horses that is
2 miles. The population of the township is about 1200 but that includes a lot of rural countryside outside the village.
"Give me land, lot's of land neigh the starry sky's above." smile
30 miles. 5500. there is a village in the other direction; about 16 miles and 850 pop. Getting so crowded though; I'm thinking of selling and moving to town. Might give it a few more years. GD
Live in town. About 15 miles to my farm.

G23
3 Miles--200 people 80 dogs and 22 horses.
2 miles, 2000. 2 miles the other direction and I’ll be hunting elk.
How many live on a dirt road and can shoot in any direction?
Gravel, but, I could, with great care.
3 miles ...pop 65, but the sign hasn't been updated since the timber industry died in the '80's.

5 miles, 598 pop.
In town, 300,000+, but I'm less than 10 from the beach.
Our town is about 1/2 mile but its only 400-500 folks in town (unincorporated) itself, about 1500 more in outlying areas. Were about 25 miles to the nearest real town (about 7000 pop) with supermarket, hospital, restaurants, etc.
7 miles to town - population 900 (county seat). The county is 5000 sq miles, population is 4000 and about 28,000 head of cattle.

next closest town is 30 miles away - population 7, consists of a bar and post office.

closest town of over a 1000 (3000 population) is 55 miles, closest town of over 100,000 is 200 miles away.

There are getting to be too many people here.

About a half hour drive to the outskirts of town on a 4 lane
17 miles from a town of 3500 and 18 miles from a town of 36000.
I bought property right on the edge of Montana, across the street are about 300. A border guard of sorts😂
I can see the only stoplight in town from my front yard.

165 sewer connections. Don't know the total population.

I can see a DG in the other direction!

Its a metropolis for sure. Complete with corn fields.
About 5 miles to a village of around 400 or so. I can, and do, shoot in any direction from my house.
4 miles and 3900.

The US population is ~ 100 people/ square mile.

In the bedroom community where I live in the suburbs of Seattle, is 4000 people per square mile. Extremely low crime, due to good people.

The city of Seattle has 5,000 people per square mile, but those are really bad people.

Where I hunt 900 miles from here, it is 3 people / square mile, and those are good people.
My new home in PA is 9 miles to town and town is 2725 people.
The entire county only has ~16k.

County seat is 2500. Only 2 redlights.

30 mins to Sams / Walmart’s.

5 mins to the DG. 😂
Ray when you live on a farm that is 1 section large(640 acres)you have folks that are 3/4miles to the south you can even piss of the front porch with no problems. grin
2 miles 326 people.
4 miles. Population 62.
Closest neighbor is 1.3 miles away.
Pistol targets hanging in my front yard from an apple tree.
Walking distance out front door to multiple blinds and stands.
1200yd private rifle range .25 miles away.

There lie the bones of my parents, and grand parents. My ashes will be scattered there as well. I have a Century Farm there and hope to spend my last days pottering about there. Good dirt, easy to grow a garden.

No stop lights in our county.

I like the area you live in tikkanut - I intend to spend a bit more time exploring around there either later this year or next spring.

30 seconds.....500,000
You have no ID!!
I live right on the edge of town. Neighbors to the east and west, and across the alley. Nine houses on our street. Everyone knows everyone.

Around 2700 people in town.

Free range dogs, people passed out on sidewalks, one fast food drive through, wave at 1/2 the pickups I meet, it's a funny place...

100 miles to Walmart(Williston ND), 320 miles to either Billings or Great Falls(100k).
No traffic lights in the whole county. 20 miles to nearest town of 430 people and it's the county seat.
