Just got our first new 870 express in the store. Can't say it looks or functions any different than the last batch back in 2019.

Price is ten percent higher but that's normal for this year unfortunately.

Hopefully the 700s will be next.

Put a bunch of ammo out too. Starting to look more normal.

Too bad the rest of the world isn't.

They going to manufacture the entire 870 line? I'm interested in an urban warfare model.

I watched that video and wanted to post it but couldn’t find it. Hopefully someone saved it and will post it soon.

ETA: I’m a Remington fan….from the past.

For sure. I have 4 from the old Remington and have never had the first problem. A 870 Camo Magnum and a 870HD. But to be fair….I grew up hunting with 2 870’s and they had never failed either. Still have the 1969 870 and a 1998 Lt. Contour 870.

Not yet. Did you find one or are you just figuring to keep sucking cock for quarters at the truck stop ?

Ole Blackie fires back.

My Remington always fires.

Damn. "New shotgun" to "blowing guys for quarters" in a dozen posts lol

I have always liked Remington.

My cousin found an 870 mag in a ditch when he went to go haul the trash off. Little bit of road rash.

Said he need $100 for it.

I gave him $80 cash, 20 blue punchout valiums and whatever 3 gallons I had in my lawn mower gas jug for his cutlass supreme

Lapping compound for one and Duracoat for the other.

Love my old 870 Express from the mid 90's even has a walnut stock.

I believe it was $219.99. Money well spent.

That Gutless Supreme'd go for at least $200.

Had a chance at several Expresses with walnut stocks. Sharp looking for sure.

Now Bobbi, you gotta admit that Blackheart talking about you sucking cock at the truck stop was pretty funny and even more accurate.

I like the 20g Youth Model I won in '07 at the NRA fundraiser.

All I managed that day:

it even likes winter hunting:

I'd own another if the new ones compare. A 16g or 28g would be the tits.

Fabulous. My wife has a .410 Youth that has hardly been shot. My 410's are a Governor and a Judge.

Many (most??) times I grab that one instead of the 12g Wingmaster. Kicks less, with my short arms it fits better too. And I've killed pheasant with it too.
Was thinking on trading it off after winning it, but let my older bro know. He told me to shoot it a couple of times first. He's built similar to me and told me he swapped the buttstock on his 870 home defense gun to the youth model stock for a better fit.

I'm really glad I talked to him first.

So here's the 870 to replace the older one for hunting in Cali. Already doing yomans duty as a coyote gun.

Need to find out if it's legal in Cali. Would hate to remove the extended tube.

A quarter though ? He’s dumber than a box of crescent wrenches. He probably puts shoe polish in his hair .

Put a Limbsaver recoil pad on it, why let the std one beat on you?

The last 870 I bought, probably 6 - 8 years ago, had a laminate stock and was a beautiful gun, looked great.
The only issue I found with it was that POA and POI differed enough that I couldn't hit schitt with it!
Remington was perfectly fine with doing nothing about it. (I Used To Be a real fan of remingtons...).
Posted By: Big Sky Re: New 870 express - 09/03/21
I've owned a couple of Remington 870 Expresses and a couple 870 Wingmasters. I sent the Expresses down the road a long time ago and have zero plans to ever buy another. The Wingmasters on the other hand are not for sale and I will likely have them until I die.
Posted By: MtnBoomer Re: New 870 express - 09/03/21
First firearm I bought was a 870,12ga 3" Wingmaster 28" modified, 14 years old, seems like it was $230ish.

Good Luck Remington.

Already has one. The slip on kind. And with my short arms it just makes length of pull even longer. Works OK for turkey, as I'm not shooting a bunch then.

But for upland birds, I'll take the 20g most times.

Video from a month or so back, review of some 870 Exrpresses on the Scheels racks. His main focus seems to be the fit of the buttstock to the back of the receiver.

Video 2, same guy, comparing to Mossberg, Winchester, and Benelli all at that $400 price point.

Vidoe 3, same guy, with Remingtons Response to his videos. "sorry, we had old stock with defects that slipped through QC as we opened back up..."

Inflation isn't happening, These $399 870 Expresses were $199 in 1997 when I bought my 12 guage.
Posted By: Morewood Re: New 870 express - 09/04/21
First firearm I bought as a teenager was a Remington 870 Wingmaster. 12 gauge 3" magnum full choke.

Paid $180.00 out the door for it back in 1977.

Still have it, but it's not my go-to shotgun. Got a beat up Winchester 12 ga. for knock around bird hunting. Aims itself with an action like butter.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: New 870 express - 09/04/21
Back when I was working in the Wholesale Firearms Industry, we closed out some 870 Express 16 ga Remchoke version’s for $199.

Saw where someone in the Free Classified was “trying” to sell one he claims is NIB for $1000 🤪🤪🤪
