A buddy of mine dropped this off. He got it from his grandpa who passed away a few years back. Came with a box that was addressed to the local armory here.

Before I spend too much time trying to figure it out, what model gun does this go to?

Will pm Hubert later. Assume some military rifle due to the armory address.

1917

1917 is my guess. It’s very Mauser like but the tang area is different.

All of the ones I have seen had it stamped on the butt.

I received this in a pm from a member:

“Your stock is for a P-13 Enfield or a M-1917 US rifle with a shortened magazine to eliminate the dogleg in the trigger guard. I have a sporterized 1917 with the same stock, one that I picked up in a pawn shop near Memphis Tennessee. It has been rechambered to .300 H&H Magnum and uses the P-13 .303 Brit boltface, which was a popular conversion back in the 1950's and 60's.”

Thanks all!

I got one on an 03 a3.
My friend found the gun in his safe that the stock was bought for. Wants me to give him a fair price on it. I have no clue on Enfield values as they seem to be all over the board. Serial number is in the 22x,xxx’s. Remington made I believe. Any thoughts on value?

Value, if selling it to us, or somebody else? LOL
if it hadn't been sporterized, it would be worth around $500.00. Also that little gizzy? mounted on the left side f the receiver is not original.

I worked on a lot of them over the years and have never seen anything like it.

I assume it is an issued 30-06.
The item mounted on the left is made by Pachmayr. I am assuming it is for a scope mount. The front sight says Redfield on it. Kind of a neat collection of old school parts, though they detract from its value I assume.
Looks like the bottom half of a pachmayr swing over scope mount.
