My oldest is a sophomore and finally was able to dress for JROTC today. I never served, so I wasn’t much help on proper dress for him. Today was really just for the upper class men to help out the new kids with getting it right. He was pretty excited though. After last years covid debacle, he’s finally getting to be involved. He’s really hoping that they can do their D-Day trip to France in the next year or so. I’ll definitely be volunteering as a parent chaperone if they need any.
Congrats to your son. Definitely will not regret the D-Day trip if you two get to go on it.
That’s a fine looking young man. Obviously he’s a product of excellent parenting. I hope he always remembers the pride he felt the first time he donned the uniform. 👍
Young man looking sharp..... Congrats!

Ptarmigan: Please pass along my congratulations to your son - I hope he is happy and does well in his chosen course.
I did 29 years in uniform and it was rewarding in many ways but trying in others.
Congratulations to you as well for producing such a fine young human.
We need more, LOTS MORE, like him.
Hold into the wind

Did not go that route myself, but if one follows through, the program should provide a fine education and good career opportunities. Have a neighbor that took that route through the Air Force.
I can hear it now. “Tuck in that shirt maggot!”
Good on him, and you too. 👍

LOL! When he was picking up his uniform yesterday they were having a hard time finding a beret that fit him. His instructor, an Army Major, said “Damn son, you have a big [bleep] head!”. Haha! Hopefully he had to do a few pushups today, as they build character!
Good foundation for him to build on for sure.👍👍👍
If he pursues the military he can get a full boat ride college ROTC scholarship going the course of super acheivement in HS.
It aint a bad way of life like many think or like to slam.
I would recommend Infantry or Armour.
Out dealing death.....
But thats just me😁😁😁

Haha! For now he’s happy toting his ‘06 and chasing high school chicks. Not a bad place for him to be at the moment!
I teach Navy JROTC in a high school in TX. Today was our first blown uniform day. Upper classmen help the new cadets get everything right. JROTC is a great program for building the concept of teamwork and taking care of each other. And it is a blast to teach it. I loved my 25 years in the USN and this is how I spend my time now. Hard to believe I actually get paid to do it.

Your boy looks sharp and proud, congrats! Go to SOB Tactical and learn how you both can parachute into the best D Day event of all. He has 4 years to learn if he wants to serve under the current chain of command.

I'm gonna need a link!
He, myself, and Drunk Uncle have a continuous group text. He drops some good ones. LOL
It’s nice having a young buck to keep us up to date. Otherwise we’d be stuck on Winnebago Man.
This had to be a great day for the son and Dad both. God Bless Y'all and Be Well, RZ.
He looks great and hope he enjoys the experience.
Uncanny resemblance to my oldest son when he was the same age.
Showed the pic to his 6yr old daughter and she doesn't believe me that it's not her dad.
Congratulations to you both. Good looking kid and no doubt raised right.
Congrats to both your son and to you for raising a great kid !
Good looking young man. You and your wife did a good job
Standing tall,
Looking good
