I didn't know the man well, but we did do a trade deal once and he was a real gentleman to do business with. He seemed like the kind of guy anyone would be proud to call friend. Sorry he's gone.

Reno Shad Herron was born on January 27, 1976, to Carol Jene (Yates) Kuchenreuther in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Steven “Cash” Herron was blessed to become Reno’s father when he and Carol married in 1983. He graduated from Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, in 1994. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, after high school.
Reno married Melanie (White) Herron on June 14, 2008, and to this union, Presley Dawn Herron was born and Reno became a father to Sean Quimby and Blair Broermann.
Reno was employed by the Cooper Nuclear Station in 2008 as a Non Licensed Operator and in 2015 earned his license as a Reactor Operator. He met lifelong friends during his time at Cooper. Reno and his family moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, in 2017 where he joined license class LOT 23 at the South Texas Project (STP) nuclear power plant. Reno earned a Senior Reactor Operator License at STP in 2019 and served as Unit Supervisor of Crew 2C. He was beloved by his crew and Plant Operators.
Reno and Mel made their first home in Tarkio, Missouri, where he was a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church. Reno was a devoted family man, enjoying attending his children’s many sports and activities. Reno, Mel and Presley moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, in 2017 where they eventually bought a home and settled in and loved Texas life. Reno enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and hanging out with his family and friends. He was a meticulous “collector” of all things he felt worthy. Presley wanted it noted that her Daddy told the best Dad jokes ever.
Reno passed away on September 26, 2021, in Angleton, Texas.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melanie; children, Sean, Blair and Presley; parents, Cash and Carol; brothers, Rebel and wife Trudy, Reven, and Redge; nephews, Ryder and Ray; niece, Reese; nephew, Briton; Aunt Peggy, Uncle Gary; grandparents, Clarence Yates, Sr. and Margaret Jones; mother-in-law, Cyndy and Dennis, and sister-in-law, Claire.
