Is there a better ruffage dressing out there? Please enlighten me.
Posted By: Valsdad Re: Ken's Country French - 10/04/21
Extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and homegrown Italian herbs and garlic.

Terrible stuff. Cat piss would probably be better.

Yes. Plain ole olive oil. If you want to get fancy a smidge of seasoned rice vinegar on top

It's one of my favorites, country French.

Tastes like what we would get in the old steak houses.

The dressing would come on a three container lazy Susan type of thing.

Roquefort, thousand and French.

If you order French dressing on a salad at a mom and pop within a few hundred miles of Carthage, MO, you're going to get Ott's. It is what I use at home as well.

Ott's Original "French" Dressing

Dorothy Lynch is a common and acceptable substitute.

The French put mayo on fries, no?

Then WTF do they know about making salad dressing?

Sheesh, hold into the fois gras.

Does it have bleu cheese in it? If not, no thanks

I like the Ken’s Lite Caesar, Lite Northern Italian with Basil and Romano, Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Lite Creamy Caesar.

Pro tip Jim, take some of that Ken's Country French and mix it with a little Franks Red Hot and bathe your wings in it. Best wings you've ever had.

A mound of cottage cheese, some chunked tomato, and a drizzle of Country French - mighty nice side dish, salad, or light lunch.

Notice that I didn't say "Lite" Extra Virgin Olive Oil. grin

I don't always put French dressing on my salad, but when I do, it's Ken's.
Posted By: kragman1 Re: Ken's Country French - 10/04/21
A lot of good dressing out there.
A classic is the old school Italian dressing:

White vinegar
Cheap EVOO (not virgin)
Salt & pepper
Good grated cheese

Pour that over your garden goodies and you'll be surprised. Don't go too heavy on the vinegar.

Here is a tip I stumbled on by accident while frying fish:

Mix Dorothy Lynch with this and dip your fried fish in it. It's da bomb!

Love to cook with olive oil but I find it hard to believe that plain ole olive oil is better than KCF on a salad.
Thanks for playing tho

I'd love to try that but I've never seen either one of those on the shelves here. I'll keep an eye out tho.
