It’s all a game to let the Dems change the rules and pass whatever they want, then the Republicans will run against them based on that. They’ll curse the Dems and the damage they’ve done, but the damage will be done. And if the Repubs win, it will be just like Obamacare and they’ll do nothing to fix it.

The political cover that Manchin and Senima need to abolish the filibuster is a so-called default on our debt. By refusing to agree to removal of the debt ceiling, that’s what will happen. Then the Dems will pass whatever they want including the so-called elections reform that Manchin is co-sponsoring.

I mean we’ve all known for years and decades that this whole mess is just an elaborate game, but the cynicism behind this is pretty staggering. Everyone wants to change the rules, but no one wants to take the blame. McConnell is going to give the Dems the political cover they need to change rules while forcing them to take the blame. Everyone gets what they want while the Repubs blame the Dems for doing it and the Dems blame the Repubs for forcing them to do it. Meanwhile, the country burns.
The first two years of the Trump administration were an opportuny to repeal Obamacare.
Mitch is no the leadership the GOP needs in a time of full out political war. We need some slash and burn going on instead of standing on the sidelines.
Mitch is playing a long game.

Unfortunately there were so many RINO's during those two years that Trump could get little accomplished.
Many of them were flushed out and are either gone or exposed but by then it was too late.

Trump treated the Dems[and whiny-azzed RINO's] like the Dems treat the Repubs, something the whiny azzed RINO's wouldn't stand for.

All of these programs in the $3.5T [actually $8-10T] will be implemented just with shorter 'lifespans' to reduce the costs.

We're f'ked.

Of course Mitch is. If the Bush presidency, endless wars, patriot act ( ironic no?) the 2008 economic crash, first two years of the Trump presidency, the manufactured covid crisis and finally last November weren't wake up calls for Americans, I don't know what is.The entire system is corrupt from top to bottom. This is all political theater to make you think the GOP is on your side. The GOP is just as corrupt or more corrupt than the Dems.

PAUL RINO RYAN was the problem there.

ding ding ding !
I think McConnell has his own agenda and it has nothing to do with the citizens. He's been in power for far too long and is drunk with it. McCain was that way. They both have done more harm to America than good. They both fought Trump in different ways. McConnell is a dirty fighter and will stab you in the back if he thinks he needs to. They like the way Washington has evolved. They want the good old boy system where they share power with democrats and get to spend the money.

We have enabled this malfeasance by re-electing too many of them for too many decades. McConnell wants to go back to running the GOP and getting his cronies nominated against the will of the people. For too long we have been left with no one to vote for except RINOs of the first order. McConnell is doing what he thinks he needs to to keep the status quo.

The question is not whether they're going to destroy America; it's how long they're going to be allowed to keep trying? Trump won the last election but all these months have passed and we still have nobody revolting over it. They'll keep going with what's working and we are going to keep doing what's not working.
Term limits is the only solution.

Allowing bullschitt legislation to pass damages the country & all of us & as we've seen time after time, once something is in place & becomes "law", it's next to impossible to undo.

The only exception is an EO from Trump......................all his can be overturned at will; not so with Obama's EO's.................they are sacrosanct & cannot be undone, ever.

Fu^ck Mitch..........................every single Demon piece of schitt legislation that can be stopped, should be stopped. Obstruct on everything, cooperate on nothing.

It will be his excuse to eliminate the fillabuster on everything once Republicans control the Senate again. Kinda like he did with SC nominees. At the moment the other side is only talking about eliminating the fillabuster for the debt limit and maybe voting rights.
This is redundant

Mitch is an embellished grifter, and traitor.
Gents,

It’s all political theater. Distract, confuse, deny, and overwhelm the people (us) with rhetoric and double-speak ~ all while lining their pockets with gold.

Nothing ever really changes. Trump, tried. He pissed off DC and the entire world with his MAGA.

Politicians are servants to big money enterprises. We’re the pawns they need and want to control.

Currently, they’re doing a good job of it.

That's all it is, Beave. We're just the hamsters on the wheel fueling the big machine with our taxes, without representation.
It’s the Uniparty.

Bitch about the opposition, campaign on a cure, never cure anything, because of the opposition of course, then use the same campaign fodder again and again and again.

That’s why the Republicans hated Trump and teamed up with the opposition to remove him, because he got schit done, without their help, took away much of their campaign fodder and showed us how useless they really are.

F*ck Mitch and F*ck the Republican Establishment arm of the Uniparty
Standby for some idiot from Kentucky ranting about California.

LOL

Lol

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/senate-dems-accept-gop-debt-ceiling-offer-mcconnell

Quote
McConnell said Republicans would allow Democratic leaders to "use normal procedures" to pass the emergency debt limit extension. The federal government faces the possibility of a default on its debt obligations by Oct. 18 if an agreement is not reached.

The Kentucky senator said his offer would "moot Democrats’ excuses about the time crunch they created and give the unified Democratic government more than enough time to pass standalone debt limit legislation through reconciliation."

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has yet to formally announce whether the offer will be accepted. Despite McConnell’s insistence, Democrats say they will not use the extended window to pass a longer suspension of the debt limit through budget reconciliation, as Republicans want.
No reason for a default if they would quit creating new spending programs.

Think McCain.

Yeah, McCain played his part, he was on his way out so he gladly played the stooge, if it weren’t McCain, the Uniparty would have found another loyalist to take the blame.

Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
I'd fuss about Kentucky continuing to elect that crook, but Texas is in the same boat with Cornyn. Dumb has become the majority, regardless of political affiliation.
He is playing something that's for sure.

That's the conclusion I've come to believe.
Reminds me of Godfather, and Sonny telling Tom he wasn’t a “wartime consigliere”.
We all knew what he was going to do. and he didn't disappoint at all.

Yup, in fact they are worse than the Democrats in many ways.

At least with a Democrat you know what’s in the box, Republicans are nothing but one eyed jacks.
You know it like I do, McConnell's getting a giant payoff from the demoRATS.
You damn well two months from now McConnell will vote to extend it again (can’t have MSM accusing him of laying off Fed workers right before Christmas).
Mitch would rather lose and bitch about the Dems, than to win. That way the Republicans don't actually have to do anything worthwhile and hurt somebody's feelings.

It has nothing to do with hurting anybody's feelings. I wish people will stop trying to pimp the narrative that the Republicans are too nice, walk the morale higher ground, yada, yada, Their objective is no different the the Democrats which is the transfer the wealth of this country to a select special interest. And that interest is not the American people.

Yup.

They are no different, only worse.
But, hey, we can fix this, we can vote more Uniparty Republicans into office in a rigged election system,
