For the last several years have used Cabela's store brand flannel shirts. Always bought two at a time and they would be worn pretty much every day for 6-7 months straight, washed regularly and have lasted about 2 years before the collars start to fray. Even then they stick around for several years as work or dirty environment shirts.

Don't trust what they offer nowadays with Bass Pro in charge but BP gets universally panned for high priced crap so am looking for a new source.

Don't want or need a $100+ boutique shirt but also don't want the Walmart $10 special either; just a decent, medium weight flannel that can stand a lot of washing and hold up well for at least a couple of winters.

So, what'cha recommend?

LL Bean.........Carhartt ??
Duluth Trading Co SHIRTS
I like the chamois ll beans.

They are pricey but they fit me well and last longer than any shirt of the same weight I've had.
Simms. Just bought a 1/2 dozen of 'em. The best flannel shirts I've owned, to date.

Give Woolrich a look.
I also like LL Bean. Thick, soft and long wearing.

Carhartt has snap button flannel that looks a lot like the old Pendletons (in cotton though)

llBean chamois is way to go for heavy weight
Dont have one but been very happy with my jacket from Legendary Whitetails. Was thinking of giving their flannels a go.
walmart

Why pay $38 for a $7 flannel shirt

And unless you’re a couch cûnt, you aint out much if you snag it on a barbed wire fence or wait-a-minute vines, or lay in hydraulic fluid

Academy Sports ?

They have some bargains

On the less expensive side:

J.C.Penny
Goodwill

50% off on featured color tag of the day,

So umm half of $3 Lol
Five Brothers is worth a look

I just bought 2 red/black "buffalo plaid" shirts from Sportsman's Guide. Inexpensive, comfortable, heavyweight and very warm. Look like the old wool ones one used to get, like the loggers and deer hunters wore in pics..

Only thing is they are polyester? fleece, not flannel. Flannel is good if you can keep them dry.

I really like them, don't know how they will wear yet, but they should readily wick moisture through and dry quickly if wet.

Duluth Trading Co. Free-Swinging flannel in three weights.
Stormy Kromer - got it for Christmas last year! Made in the USA.
Cabelas Worstelon but they quit selling them. Warm and wear like tempered steel and comfy.

Yep. Used to be my favorite hunting shirt. Pissed that they stop making them. I’ve still got one left that has the Windstopper liner. It’s a warm SOB.
They quit then brought back. I bought a bunch, think I have 8 left, lifetime for an old guy, Have 1 with the windstopper.
I wear flannels every working day all winter, but am limited to tall sizes (the whole 6'5" thing comes with limitations) which limits the options. My go-to has been Eddie Bauer, catch them on one of their sales (black friday, Labor Day, Memorial day), and you can get very good flannel shirts for about $35. I have some that are close to a decade old and still in fighting shape.

Land's End has good stuff, but their catalog and web site is so poorly designed it's hard to figure out what thickness of flannel and what cut you are buying. I ended up with a couple of shirts that are made for Bubba's bellly, and me, combined.
Check out Dixxon Flannel

Big Bill: Big Bill

And there is always the American-made VT Flannel Shirt Company: VT Flannel
Most of the cheaper ones shrink after the first washing. I looked on carhartt's site. Something happened there. The models look like emaciated [bleep]

'Nother vote for Duluth.

Been wearing them for several years! All winter long, every day.

Haven't wore one out yet!

Is Big Bill the company that bought Codet?
Farm & Fleet is where I get my 100% cotton "Work n' Sport" flannel shirts. No polyester for me.

They have a western shirt medium flannel I like too.

I wear Carhartt flannels. No complaints.
Bought a few at Coastal Farm and Ranch and they were great but a bit spendy. I tend to be pretty hard on my flannels as once I get a comfortable shirt I tend to wear it while working, playing, etc... until it is shot. I got a few at BiMart and Costco and they are much cheaper and very comfortable and seem to last about the same amount of time as the more expensive ones.
I usually source mine from Brooks Brothers. Good quality, and the prices are not crazy high.
Can't believe no one said Filson. Best Ive ever had.
X2 on Big Bill. Heavier fabric than Cabelas and Duluth, cheaper and made in USA. https://www.galeton.com/big-bill-re...el-work-shirt-made-in-usa/13082-product/
Here's one ...🤣
