We could save a lot of gas if old people didnt feel the absolute need to go to the Post Office, bank, donut shop, hand deliver utility bills and take craps at the Phillips 66 every day.
I work part time at the local County Treasure's office. The place you go to transfer titles and renew license plates. About 1/2 of our traffic is to renew plates that could be done via the mail, by telephone or via the internet. But, folks want to do it in person. The wait time on a Friday afternoon is over 2 hours just to renew a plate that involves paying the license fee and getting the updated sticker. I get why they want to do it that way, it's traditional. But, think of all the gasoline and time that could be saved by doing it online, by the mail or on the phone. The county even sends out the envelopes to do the mail process. How much is 2 hours of setting in a chair or walking the halls is your life worth ??
