Any more, just about every night is a good night to stay home.
Been in barn with wood stove going pot of coffee on and deer stew on. Grandson's came over and helped eat it all. LOL Boy's can eat. Wife made cornbread. Oldest got a button buck last weekend. Tender he said. Going to let younger one get next one. Glad they love to hunt.

Stay warm my friends

Us California guys don’t all roll the same.
I had one last week when it was much cooler. Its 92’ here now. Next week for my next fire.
Monsoon here, and I have to go to the beach tomorrow to take care of some bidness. Gonna be wet and wild over there.

I'm doing a poor job of showing that I'm on your side in this. I was attempting to lampoon the 'fire's obsession with viewing everything and everybody in California as evil and was sincere in my wishes as well.
Why not!
Did someone say fire?

And again.

We are wearing shorts here today. I'm heading to north Texas for a few days tomorrow. A bit cooler there but not bad.
Posted By: AZmark Re: A good night to stay home. - 11/12/21
Our high today was 61 but a little breezy, right now its 45 and dropping to about 32 over night.
Just started the fire.

The weather is indeed perfect but I am still stoking the fireplace tonight.
Looks like if you want a fire in Ioway you better bring your own wood. The pictures look like it's been heavily logged at some point.

The wind is blowing hard just north of Des Moines. Gusts up to 40 after being outside. The wind chill is going to be brutal come morning if the wind stays up. I'm sure where Wabigoon is living, they have the wind and the cold. The last time I was up his way there weren't even a barbed wire fence to slow the wind down. Just lots of picked corn and bean ground. That 3 inch stubble doesn't account for much.

It was really nice here today in northeast MT!
We got the Heatmor going

And we had a college party here this afternoon, brats over the fire ring after the cold front swept passed

Sure seems close to the wall of wood paneling. Surprised no wall shield

I dont know what your code actually says. I like to keep about 2-3 ft out away and have a deflector covering Rock or brick masonry up the back

It maybe in your world, but not in mine?
My wife would suffer a minor conniption if she saw that setup!

Of course she's just an insurance person, not a heat engineer.

This summer she asked me how far away from the house do the grill and smoker sit?

I said about 10 feet.

Okay good.

Told her we'd still be screwed if the BGE table caught fire.

It surrounds the Egg with less than a 1 inch gap.

Of course the Egg only gets to roughly 700F max and the heat mostly rises above the table.

Snowstorm was a bust here. Got maybe 3” overnight.

Clear and sunny (mostly) today. Cold and dry forecast for the next 7-10 days.
Posted By: ERK Re: A good night to stay home. - 11/12/21
Had our first storm. Got 4 to 6 of snow. Wind gusts supposed to be up to 50 mph. Not bad being in the 20 degree range. Edk

Just got back from trying to kill a deer and ended up with a picture of the wood stove, the only thing I was able to light up.

When Mom moved out of her house, we were faced with the one in the basement bedroom. I have no remembrance of how we got the thing down there, but to get it out, we dismantled (destroyed) it.
It looks like another night like that shapping up.

Got about 2 feet here. Plowed the drive after it quit snowing around lunch today. Was going to shovel the deck, but I guess that'll wait till tomorrow. Forecast is cold and dry on the hill as well. First thing I have done every morning for the last few weeks is start a fire. Gotta warm the old bones by fire or firewater...
