These days it’s a very short list for me. In days gone by I trusted most people, professionals, political entities etc.

Today? A very few doctors, my wife and a select and short list of friends. It isn’t the land I grew up in.

I had to get a second T-Mobile cell phone to WV... (my main Verizon phone does not work as soon as you get near the state line).

Thought about for a while... 6 people have that number.

Very few anymore.

A very few trusted old compadres who I'd ride the river with.

Basically, nobody else.

Wife and three Daughters left, that's it.

It's definitely a short list. Don't trust the law. Don't trust politicians. Don't trust most doctors. Don't trust most citizens, for that matter.

Just the way it is these days.

The wife and my sons, as much as I trust myself. That’s it, since I assume Jesus ain’t included amongst the possibles.

Nobody gets full trust. Limited trust for some in specific areas.

Didn't used to be this way. Age, experience and circumstances changed the equation.

I want to be on the bench with DD. The list is short. I do share some trust with 2 politicians I vote for but they have earned the trust. Some local folks who are on the same wave length as I am. My wife and 2 brothers. Yep, it's a short list.

John3:17,18

For those who decide to trust the only One Who can be trusted for that promise and everything else...

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

I'm curious to know how many folks here consider themselves completely trustworthy? How many think everyone they know considers them completely trustworthy?
Posted By: JeffyD Re: Who do you trust? - 11/21/21
God, my wife (the most honest person I have ever known, even when the truth hurts!), myself, one good friend and my bro-in-law.

Add to this list: my youngest son, my family doctor, and my orthopedic surgeon (he earned my trust 16 years ago, and he remains as much a friend as my doctor).

And our own Caribou Jack, can't leave him out!

And that is it, absolutely it. All other trustworthy family members and friends in my life have passed on.

God isn't a person.

My wife, the most.
Myself.
Kids are too young to be rock solid.
The level of trust rapidly declines below this level.
And it becomes topic dependent.

I have been lucky in that I had a few friends that were “help bury the body” trustworthy but unfortunately I’m down to 2. These are guys that I don’t see as often as I used to because 1 moved to Arizona and 1 went off grid up to the mountains. The only way up to his place now is snowshoes, dogsled, snowmobile or snowcat. I spent a few days last month with him and back in August my buddy came up from Arizona and we spent several days together. Either of those guys would help me not only bury the body but they’d help me track down the wolves and dispatch them with extreme prejudice. Those types of friends are exceedingly rare.

Most people do the right thing. Watching the news idiot boxes all day (tv/net) can make someone think the world is falling apart. When in reality, most of us are very blessed and should be thankful.

Yes, macro things bother me a lot. But I always keep it in perspective. Very few people actually did me wrong in life. I also live in a place where a neighbor would be here in 5 minutes if I needed them.

Becoming cynical in America is more of an artifact of the person being it, vs the environment around them.

Always remain optimistic. Work and give efforts towards a better tomorrow. One of the main goals of the Statists is to get people to hate each other. It’s makes their job easier in destroying the country.

My wife and my dogs.

I don't necessarily distrust everyone else, but trust has to be earned, just like respect.
Posted By: IZH27 Re: Who do you trust? - 11/21/21
I have a sister and brother in law. My wife a brother and sister in law. I put limited trust in all four.

I place limited trust in my younger children simply because they are still immature. Two of them.

My oldest son, the middle child is 17. Moderated/high moderate trust in him. Very mature for age but not enough life experience.

My in laws? No..

My dad. No only because he is dementing. Otherwise he was a sure bet.

Other than that there are three people who rank for high trust. My wife highest level. A former co worker and friend highest level. My present pastor moderate high to high level of trust. He has proven himself and he isn’t a fundamentalist. He is a real human being and Christian and would sit down and share a beer or scotch with me or anyone else.

Everyone else. No. Not after the last almost two years.

That is true, but he never commanded that you beat people over the head with it constantly and make a resented pest of yourself---or make a martyr of yourself in the process. You probably drive more people away from the light than you can imagine...and I'm assuming you're not really a troll trying to do just that.

Men are men

All are subject to failure, be it in judgement, decisions, or execution
Decide that any one man is trustworthy and he will disappoint you

Every one of us has failed, and deserves not to be trusted.
I cannot imagine a man so vile that he should not trust in the God of the bible, or his own dog.

You took my quote above out of context RR.
I was simply responding to your friend raferman's claim that he said that I am Jesus' avatar on earth.
Since you feel that I just beat your hypersensitive friend, who would never so much as mock the Lord or His people, what exactly should I say that would "drive him to the light" to be saved?

Some people think they’re doing the right thing because they are naive about the world outside of thier world .
