Me and a friend were at the state game land shooting range. We had to watch a safety video before shooting. It mentioned you cannot shoot 338 lapua on this range. No other restriction of caliber. Am I missing something?
Cool... 30-378 Weatherby is just fine then.
Weeds out the tacticool snipers.
Probably tired of calling the ambulance from KO scope eye.
Apparently. I don't think they have a clue
They even allow a 270. Kidding
Ironically I was shooting my 35 whelen.
Had a range tell me once no .50cal
I assumed the real deal 50 cal
I asked about .50 cal muzzleloader, Fatty McGhee said “no .50 cal means no .50 cal”
JFC
I'm sure a "expert" from the state made that rule.

Were you using incendiary in the muzzleloader?
Shoulda cracked them mofos in the head with a 1911.
As far as range stories go, that was pretty tame. I hate the range when ammo is cheap. It's like an epicenter of stupid. I've seen people walk downrange because it was physically impossible to hit them from where we were sitting. Right now, you almost have the place to yourself. Which is nice.
Yup can get crazy with trench coat mafia there. Cop tournaments or cop jamborees, month before deer season, etc
Have own range now, only 50 and 100 but purely private, shaded
I never heard of state game land with range information prior. Here unless it's a game preserve, or state park, all state owned is the same land as forest service and blm land! Hunt anywhere you want. We do have state land that allows only a certain number of hunters per day. Sign in and out. Same with federal wild life areas. I can only think of two that are not huntable. It's interesting the various rules applied by different states. We do have the largest nesting area of bald eagles in the lower 48, in bear valley. No hunting there anytime.
