Economics 101...

1) If the shelves are bare... it is because everything is sold... and everything has gone bye-bye.

2) If new chit does not get made or come to the store... it means the shelves will remain bare.

3) "Sky High Prices" on stuff that is not on the shelf and has already gone bye-bye... means the prices were at a level where someone exchanged money for chit they needed.

using supply/demand. But, we havent seen a true shortage in

There has always been plenty, in times of shortage.
Because...what good are high prices if you aren't moving product?

If there was plenty of supply, high prices, and high demand,
Wal-Mart wouldn't allow empty shelves.
