Well it's a little after 5 am and I just cracked a beer.
Hoping I can get a nap here shortly.
Have one more for desert.

Why did you start so late?
When I worked midnights I would have a few beers when I finished up my last one, worked 10 on 4 off. Wife never understood
After 3rd shift this time of year, I used to enjoy a citrus breakfast before bed
.
A grapefruit and orange sectioned and the pieces peeled,
Enough sugar to make the grapefruit edible.
A good healthy Glug Glut of Rum on top.
Let it sit in the fridge while I showered.
Dam that went down good.
Citrus is healthy.
And I went right to sleep!
When I I worked 6p.m. to 6a.m. the beer was always on ice.
Can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Why did you start so late?
Left Colorado last night around 730pm to head home, truck and livestock trailer.
Would've been home around 200 am except I had to nap for 30 minutes and then drove about 35 mph for over 2 hours because of [bleep] roads.

I still don't know how to make those.
I have begun to experiment with these.
But I really didn't want to mess around with 4 or 5 ingredients. I just wanted to sit down and unwind from a long crap drive.

Beer…it’s liquid bread. It’s good for you.
Drenched getting groceries to the Jeep.
Warming up at home.

If you work nights, morning is beer time.
Nothing unusual for me, but I get home from work around 3:30.

Zing Zang, 5 Peppers, or Major Peters mix. 3/2 vodka. If I've got that right, that's 3 shots mixer 2 shots Vodka. Keep Tabasco on the side if ya need more heat. lots of ice, big glass.
That's the pour it & drink. The 5-? ingredients can come later.
Be fancy, put a stalk of celery in.
I recall the first night my now wife spent the night in college. I had an early class and was up in the shower. She slides the door open to join and asks, "What the XXXX is that?" "Um, a Coors Light"...
Nothing unusual for me, but I get home from work around 3:30.
2:30 AM for me.
Back when I drank, anytime was beer O 30. I work midnight to 8 and your morning is my evening. People that have never worked shift work alot of times can't or won't understand this.
Enjoy your brew.
Tarkio: For twenty some years I worked the 3rd Watch on a large west coast cities Police Department.
Our shift ended at 0400 hours (four AM) and by 0430 hours about 3 dozen of us would be at "choir practice" behind the locked gate of a city park with beer in hand watching for the sun to rise and the Harborview nurses (who got off work at 0400 hours as well) to arrive!
Indeed, an early morning beer after a graveyard shift is something to relish - and frankly something I have missed since retiring 24 years ago.
Long live cheap Rainier and Olympia Beers.
Hold into the wind

Wabi, what's your favorite vodka? I like to try others faves.

One for each toe.
All depends what kind of hours I am working
I gotta admit that I love seeing the look in peoples faces when I hit the QT in Harrisonville and buy beer at 6am
Haven't had one that early in a while. Had an early flight home on Thanksgiving morning. They gave free drinks to the whole flight. Had a 6:30 am beer that morning. Chased it with a coffee.

I have been using Mr T's (think that's what it was called), lemon or lime, another premade mix and some pickle juice.

Got back from the farm?
That a question for me?
I took my daughter down to Colorado so she could show a couple of her pigs. The shows ran late. High winds all across Wyoming and then pretty good snow and ZERO plows out in the middle of the night.
I still don't have a way to post pictures or I would. Is there a simple way that doesn't involve signing up for a program/website to host?

Pickled green bean for the win.

Question is:
Why'd he stop the night before?
Just to "start" at 5 am?
Rookie. 😆🤤

Yeah...I figured you had traveled over east to your farm or something.
Denver Stock Show?
What breed of pigs?

Just a couple barrows she has to take to the Denver stock show in January. Take them out now to get them show-broke. Unfortunately, this time of year, we don't have any jackpots in the area.
They are crossbred barrows but she showed one as a hamp because it classifies as a hamp just by breed character.
We don't have a farm over to the east. Not sure where that came from? We have a little irrigated acreage here outside of Worden where we live.
I will try the postimage thing and share a pic.
I thought there was some family land in Illinois or something?? Iowa?
Yes. Wife's family has a farm in IL.
When you said east, I was thinking eastern MT Jim.
Great picture!
We are just starting to learn about pigs here.
Bought a couple of Duroc gilts from a breeder in Townsend. You probably know of him.

Yep.
That was the closest Duroc breeder we could find.
