What a tough old bird. Got blown up by a German shell in WW2. Blew out his side and back. Was supposed to die from infections that drove his temperature to 109, but he survived, though with a permanently paralyzed right arm.

I hope I didn't comment on Bob Dole's passing and just forgot about it, but I cannot remember hearing of his death till today. Didn't know he died, unless I knew back in December and then forgot, which would be worrying. Were there some other posts about it here at the Fire?

I give Mr. Dole credit for being classy and probably a nice guy as far as a neighbor, husband, and father. At the same time that was the problem. The right has needed down in the weeds street fighters willing to fight cultural wars for decades but outside of President Trump weāve had almost none while itās a basic tenant of the left.
