This scope is NOS and was made many years ago when Tasco meant quality and it is stainless like!

I will have you know I have been a lurker on this forum off and on for some years now!

Take that Tasco, gently remove the ocular lens. Reach inside the tube with some needle nose pliers & gently remove the first lens.

Collect some steel wool, small tinder and kindling. Maybe up to 3/4” or so in diameter and set up in a sunny place.

Create a nest-like tinder bundle and set it away from other combustible items.

Using the lens removed earlier , shine the rays of the sun into the bundle until a nice flame erupts. (This might take a while because the lens is likely plastic and inefficient - but it’ll work eventually)

Feed this flame with larger & larger material till you have a hot, steady fire. Feed the fire until you are concerned about its size. Don’t give up. Keep feeding.

At this point, you should go online to SWFA.com & enjoy the warmth.

After you’re solidly online & taken the website in, briskly toss that Tasco into the fire - almost with anger but certainly eagerness.

Purchase the scope that most suits your needs & feel happy that you are warm and have a real scope headed your way.

Have a wonderful night & may the new SWFA scope provide illumination & sustenance for many years.

Solid plan and great points.... BUT... Not sure why I would F'up a totally old school QUALITY tasco by setting it on fire?

Secondarily I own a SWFA scope and yes they are really really really NICE and when I look at stuff through it, the stuff falls over most every time. Just crank it up, put the dot on the stuff and take the picture! Pic above of said scope and I would by more but they dont seem to ever have any in stock.

I had a Ruger 22-250 that i sold, it was accurate but I had to load bullets longer than the magazine and that always bothered me so I sold it. Shot a few things with it.
I had a 243 for a while, that went down the road. My dad has it now... shoots a lot of deer with it.

I now have a CZ 547 22 LR w/ a threaded muzzle that is sweet. Those new CZ 22 will flat out SHOOT
I also got a CZ 527 17HH that I just got the scope mounted on and cant wait to shoot it. I got brass and dies for it, plan to shoot 25 grain bergers. Should be a #deathlazer for sure.

I used to have a NEF handi rilfe in 22 hornet, loved that little rifle and kicking my self in the nutz for selling it. I had a good load worked up for it and had the trigger lightened it was accurate, about 1/2 inch at 100. Now the handi rifles are sky high and contenders are even worse and hornets are super hard to find. I want a 22K hornet in a contender or a CZ 527.

So I dont really have a great answer for your but I do have a fondness for hornets.
