Unlikely. The American people are in love with pretense, in much the same way as the British are. Camelot and all that rubbish. The irony is that the masses participate in the delusion that our "leaders" are somehow above the common failings of human beings and should be held to a higher standard not because they believe it but because it has been marketed to them by the media and they refuse to say, "Hey, stop trying to sell me this bullshit!"
